Buzzing pub in ‘theatre land’. Lots of places to sit and around the back there is a pool table. Beer list is good but would love to see one or two more wines on the list and maybe something Aussie seeing as though the place is crawling with ‘em. There is a biggish pub food menu featuring the classics eg burgers, steaks, fish and chips as well as the good old bangers and mash. They also do share plates that look like great stomach lining pub fun food platters. Throughout the week, there is various entertainment such as live music and they play sporty looking stuff on the TVs. Very close to the station!

Best fish n chips I’ve had! Wonderful cider on tap and very fun atmosphere. Husband got the Sunday roast and that was excellent as well. Will be back!

Stopped in for a quick pint after work. They have some decent cask pulled ales, and a roof garden which is probably nice on warmer days. Nothing fancy for a British pub, but was warm and cozy inside. I didn’t get to try any of the food since the kitchen closed at 9 pm, which is when I arrived.

Burger and fish were good. Service was good. Had wifi. Pub was classic and an environment you want to revisit.

Mellow barkeeps, cool upstairs patio; scant draught beer options but won’t hold that against them. That guests are still milling about on a late Tuesday night makes this a true neighborhood watering hole. Come here to escape the loud drunkenness that is The Cut.

Came here after a show… and I don’t really do shows(and certainly not after this experience), so the pub was the highlight of the evening(and the only time I had no trouble staying awake). While the beer range wasn’t exactly innovative, anywhere that does a good pint of St Austell Tribute is going to win me over every time! They also had Doom Bar, Landlord and Tribute. The place looked really lovely. Dim with some pretty lights around about. There is a pool table but it is sequestered away from the drinkers. Just the big screen switched on but silent was a little annoying, so I sat with my back to it… problem solved… maybe I should have tried the same at the theatre!

Random locals bar in an area that, despite being a stones throw from Waterloo station, manages to feel like a proper little neighbourhood. Appears to have a fantastic roof garden up top for the warmer months, which I’m sure will draw in the office crowd, but for the darker months you’ll find a slightly shabby pub which seemingly contradicts itself by promoting singer-songwriter live music, open mic and karaōke nights. Really friendly bar staff; it’s a bit rough round the edges in here, but it’s refreshing not to be in another super clean or funky try-hard bar that seem to be the norm around this area.

Finding a pub near Waterloo where you can get a seat is becoming a challenge. Step forward The Stage Door, an nice old boozer with a good selection of real ales and an appealing menu. The place is easily confused with the actual Stage Door of the theatre on the same road which has a lit-up sign saying Stage Door! Why only 3 stars? I saw bar staff refilling wine bottles from nasty looking industrial containers!

Quaint local pub just off waterloo road. The pub has everything you need for a great night out with a few friends. Food is served until quite late in the evenings, there is a pool table, juke box, big screens for major sporting events and on specific nights there are live acts & open mike nights. The atmosphere in this pub is great. The food is a bit pricey but worth it. The Stage Door is approximately halfway between Waterloo station & Southwark station(both on the Jubilee line) You can easily walk from either station in 5 – 10 minutes.
