First off, I was shocked by the negative reviews and would like to point out that most of them date back to 2011. I’m not sure if the ownership has changed hands, but these reviews no longer reflect the restaurant. We went on a Sunday night with some friends from Leytonstone. Our friends had been there a few times, but this was our first visit. One member of our group is vegan and the restaurant gladly informed her of her options, which were plentiful. I don’t normally like Indian food, but my husband loves Indian so I occasionally get grudgingly dragged along. However, I really enjoyed the food here. I had a pepper stuffed with potatoes as an appetiser, which was brilliant and I might attempt to make at home. For my main, I had a prawn dhansak, which I also recommend. Everyone in my party seemed very pleased with the food. Even though it was a Sunday night the restaurant was quite full. The wait staff were very kind. We spent three hours there and were not rushed at all. The food was timed perfectly, which is a hard concept for some UK restaurants. The waitstaff presented us with a small present of chocolates and liquor shots free of charge! There customer service is spot on! We will definitely be returning!

Indian cuisine reaches its best at this place. Not as good as Dishoom, but still on my top 5. I’ve always used it as a takeaway, since it is in my area and I’m always coming or going somewhere. The staff are fantastic and I don’t know how they manage to be so friendly and kind any time. It is a pleasure to be served by them. They have basically everything on the menu. From your favourite meals, to the ones you would try and they’d become your favourites too. Any ingredient has a specific flavour and it is a pleasure to try the combinations they create. The meat is always tender and yet, very crispy. What to try: the chickenMakani, if you like spicy food.

I’d heard good things about this restaurant so thought it was about time I checked it out. I wish I hadn’t bothered. I rung ahead of time asking if they could accommodate for gluten free and onion with curries. I was assured that wouldn’t be a problem. With this reassurance I was excited. I love curries but with my allergies they’re so hard to come by. When I arrived at the restaurant and started going through the menu I was told none of the curries could be done onion free and in fact there were very few meals that I could actually eat. Given I had rung before hand this was incredibly frustrating and it seemed like the staff didn’t actually have a clue about the items on their menu. I ended up having a bowl of fried rice but I wasn’t impressed in the slightest. I won’t be back.

Went there with a group of friends. Was shocked at the filthy state of the place and gingerly ordered a few things off the menu that I thought had not been handled by too many people. Chcken Tikka main course was a tiny portion of dried chicken which had probably been microwaved too much. dahl was runny and tasteless. All in all a cramped dirty place. Will not be returning.

One of the worst asian restaurants in UK! OMG! They serve ONIONS instead of curry! I was just shocked when I went there. The food is absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I have eaten a lot of different asian dishes and believe none of them was consisting of onions! Me and my friend ordered chicken(KORMA) curry and lamb curry. Both of them not only looked the same but tasted same there were literally 4 small pieces of meat in each curry and the rest was just ONIONS in a gravy! Now we are laughing at the experience but then we were really upset. The staff was not very nice as well, especially after I told them that I have eaten much better curry ;-) DONOTGOTHERE! WASTEOFTIMEANDMONEY! Recommend it for onion-lovers though ;-) !!!

Cold food, only 4 small peices of chicken in my tikka masla, so very pricey for small portions of watery strange coloured dishes, the Saag paneer was disgusting, ordered a take away here before and it was the same, i should have thrown the menu as it was picked up by mistake and ordered from by a friend… YUK

It is certainly above average but the owner is very experienced at talking it up on the internet and by any other method he can find. There are a wide range of dishes including many fish recipies. Its totally unlikely when viewed from outside as it looks small and rather pokey. Step inside and its very spacious and nicely decorated. Eat as much on Sunday lunchtimes and currently on Monday and Tuesday evenings but check before going on that as it might change as the recession receeds. They do hold open the door when you leave though. Tony Glazier

A nice friendly restaurant, where the waiters open the door for you! The food is nice too and at reasonable prices. There is a buffet available on a Sunday with a variety of dishes available that should meet everyones tastes.
