Steak & Lobster

3.5 stars. Hmm this place was okayyyy but I don’t think I’d come again. I had the lobster but honestly the ones at B&L are better. Dunno about the steak though. I think they should have a dish with half a lobster plus half a steak since it’s called steak & lobster. I mean that could be a selling point. Not sure if they have that now since I visited quite a while ago. But by the looks of it, nope.

I’m the guy who on invite to restaurants will check out the menu before hand. Moments after realising all is in the name, something the restaurant pride themselves on «This or That» is the slogan. If you’re not following, the serve Steak or Lobster!
Quite a busy restaurant, very accommodating to groups. I think that’s why the ambience is so low, to give a more intimate experience *winks at lobster*
Good quality steak, medium rare was ordered and it was done perfectly. The set menu comes with unlimited salad and fries… I personally don’t eat fries, none of my friends really eat salad so #happytimes for me!
A leafy salad, no sickening sauces or salt :) just a drizzle of light balsamic vinegar, croutons (I took them out) and a sprinkle of cheese.
I ordered the grilled garlic butter mushrooms as a starter, happy to say they weren’t swimming in grease, nor tremendously salty (salt is evil!)
Food was served in 15 minutes– which is impressive considering I was in a group of 30!

Tip– steamed lobster over grilled *the grilled lobster is very chewy!
Grumpy comment! I’d have liked more side dish options– sweet potatoes or something! But I cannot complain.

Enjoy a juicy steak with unlimited fries and salad. The steak is cooked to your preference. The restaurant has beautiful interior design and presentation is to a high standard. However, when it is busy, it can take time for your re-​fills to come. Have re-​visited this place many times as the food is delicious.

For £20 you can have a whole lobster or split it half and half with a steak.
On top of that there are unlimited servings of French fries and salad.
I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the waiting staff are knowledgable and friendly.

In a nutshell: Good, reasonably-​priced lobster, somewhere that isn’t ‘up itself’
I’d heard from a few friends that the food at Steak & Lobster was good, and it lived up to expectations. I had to ask the person next to me to pinch me when we were told that the fries and salad were unlimited — he was a complete stranger. Little bit awkward.
The restaurant actually lives inside a hotel (the Radisson Blu Edwardian) but looks from the outside like an independent restaurant. The décor inside is interesting — high ceilings, black furniture, shimmery walls. Relatively smart, but not uncomfortably so.
Lobster was delicious, and a whole lobster (plus unlimited fries and salad) for £20 is very reasonable. Chicken frites with chorizo aioli was a very nice surprise for a starter. Excellent. The bottomless salad is actually very good too — baby leaves, sunflower seeds, parmesan and croutons.
Service isn’t lightning fast, but the staff are very polite and friendly.

A disappointing dining experience with the service being really slow. We sat that at the table with no service until going up to ask for some one to take our order. Finally a waiter took our food order and we asked are u taking our drinks as well. The response was after taking and putting in the food. So they can serve our food first and then our drinks will come slightly after the food arrives. Not a common way to serve! We been sitting for a long time that they could at least serve us drinks while we wait for our food.
When the food arrives the waiter insisted we ordered a sauce that we did not order. His attitude was very offensive and keep saying it is our sauce.
Not all the steak we order was cooked to as requested. We had a medium rare steak which was more a medium steak as when we cut through it was almost cooked through.
The offer of £20 for a lobster or steak with unlimited fries and salad sounds good. But I think the steak is more worth it then the lobster as it was small and not much meat. Otherwise go with someone and one order a steak and another order a lobster. Then share both together to have a steak & lobster. It feel like a better offer and much more filling.
The service was a really let down. We asked three times for wet tissue but nothing came. Only a few wet cloth came after we all decided to head to the toilet to clean our hand. Not even enough to go around the table.
The 12.5% service charge was not worth paying. I had been looking forward to a steak & lobster evening but came out disappointed.

Steak or lobster, that’s your choice. I think this is one of the few restaurants where decisions can be made very quickly! I went for steak, as did my girlfriend, and we chose rare. Unfortunately the first one was more medium, but after sending that back, the second came very quickly and was cooked perfectly.
The steak and lobster both come with unlimited salad and fries, and these are also delicious. The salad is like a mixed leaf bistro style and has an olive oil dressing with a bit of grated parmesan and some small sunflower seeds. The fries have a slight seasoning and are deliciously crisp.
I’d definetly go again!
