Anyway, SX on Essex Road is one of those fabulous finds that you kick yourself for not knowing existed. The amount of times that I traveled way too far and paid way too much when I could have just popped into this hodge-​podge hardware heaven right around the corner? Bah!
They sorted me out with everything I needed, made sure that I actually knew how to use the stuff, and even replaced one of my selections with a better brand that was a lower price. This is exactly what a want from a hardware store (some help!) If I’m going to Do It Myself, I wouldn’t mind a little moral support in the meantime. Supplies don’t hurt either.
I couldn’t recommend these guys more — I’ve literally lived around the corner for 10 months, and in a tragic play of irony, my first visit happened to be my last day living in the neighbourhood.
