If you haven’t touched any books published by Taschen. You do not know what you’re missing. Their books are perfectly laid out. A bit heavier binding, and well descriptive words. This bookshop is small, books are on the pricey side. Selling stationery would have been a plus. Basement gallery is a nice place to see some great works. I can never get enough of amazing architecture, interior design, fashion and photography. Taschen has otherwise convinced me to see the world in different perspective If you need to buy a gift for your architect friends. You can’t go wrong with Taschen books.

I am a massive fan of Tashen books. Probably because of their subject matter which is predominately art. I usually spend ages here flicking through the pages of all the exciting books they have on display. Some are really big and impressive and some are tiny. Downstairs is a small gallery space with a massive book on display alongside some photos. It’s a great place to come when you have some time to kill or get some new ideas for art or even buy a book or two.

I usually like to follow Taschen publications for their daring subjects and architecture books, but I had no idea they had an actual shop, so you can imagine my surprise when I fell upon this Chelsea store after having visited the Saatchi gallery. The shop is rather small, but with an exhibition space downstairs and all of the best sellers and classics available it does serve its purpose well. Taschen offers a beautiful series of stylish coffee table books which I would love to add to my imaginary library in my virtual mansion. They are especially good at creating visually pleasing architecture, art and fashion books which are a bit cheap on the theory side, but great as reference guides. I would love to be able to buy many of these issues for myself or as gifts, but at £40 a book I’m afraid I will just have to settle on skimming through the books instore.

Taschen is the coolest art book publisher in the world with the coolest art bookstore to match. Their newest store in Chelsea is fantastic and in a prime location right next to the Saatchi Gallery. I am always impressed by the innovativeness of Taschen’s titles. The first thing that I saw when I walked in the store was a heavy, gigantic book on circuses. Naturally, being an ex dagger thrower on the carnival circuit, I gravitated towards it. There were acrobats, fire breathing dogs and bearded conjoined twins. The interior of the store is swanky and small, so whether you’re looking for a book on Rothko, biographies of porn stars or books on photography, this is the place to go for novelty in print.
