Taste of Raj was our local and we spent many an evening meal with friends and family at this lovely eatery. I am a big fan of all they serve and would recommend to all who find themselves in East Sheen.

Living round the corner from this place I’ve used it now and then but never thought of writing a review. It’s always been good food, good value, and an upmarket big ground floor area. Just recently an acquaintance asked for help moving out of a bedsit upstairs and I saw the show from the other side. The place has shared rooms for some very nice staff who also helped move, and a kitchen on the ground floor where I was ushered-in to have a look. It’s an kitchen that looks as though it has built-up a collection of stuff over the years; it doesn’t slot together and space is tight but there is a solid tile floor and clean metal panelling on the walls. Fresh ingredients are stacked-up ready to use on shelves in the middle. Here is another review of another review that I saw on the net from someone called Harry Hill: I went to a restaurant the other day called ‘Taste of the Raj.’ The waiter hit me with a stick and got me to build a complicated railway system. If I worked at Taste of Raj I wouldn’t review it too well for maintenance of living quarters, but as a place to eat it’s great. Traditionally a posh-looking eat-in restaurant, I see from their new web sit that they do take aways and apparently that’s what a lot of people order in a recession. can advise on how to transfer a business from proprietor to employee if both sides want it — I don’t know if staff at Taste of Raj are sufficientlly long-term to want to take over the business but something like that seems in order at a time when not much money is coming-in. Speaking of which, cheap night is Tuesdays: check the new website for details.
