As an American in the UK I always seek out anything labeled mexican or tex mex… I was not disappointed! The tortilla chips and salsa were amazing(guac wasn’t very good to me it seemed blended not fresh and chunky). The chicken chimichangas were super yummy and the pinto beans fab! Best part was a proper margarita on the rocks! I suggest having a meal here for sure as the service was top notch.

We are from California so we just wanted some chips and guac. The appetizer size is super small– enough for one person to have 4 chips with guac. They have a shooter menu for 5£ per drink which is composed of 202 alcoholic shots. Not impressed. Also, the people who work here don’t even speak Spanish which hurts the experience

Terrible choice if you want good Mexican food. Like some of the other negative reviewers said, the people who said the food was great here must never have had good Mexican food before. I ordered cheese enchiladas and on the menu it said they were«brushed» with a chile sauce: that would be accurate. Normally, enchiladas are baked in a dish and smothered in sauce, but these were literally just cheese and tortilla. On the menu they call tortillas pancakes. That should’ve been my clue to leave. Our server was pretty rude and acted like he was doing us a huge favor when we asked for water. The tortilla chips that came with salsa and guac were the same ones you could buy at Tesco. The only decent thing about this place were the margaritas: fresh and strong. Overall, definitely not worth a second trip, even just for a cocktail.

Stopped here for a quick bite on our way back from Wimbledon. Skeptical because the place was practically empty. The food proved otherwise, as the fajitas were excellent. Nice choice when not looking for anything too special.

Horrible. Remarkably horrible. I was initially quite skeptical of Slyvia T’s review with the whole«visit a restaurant or country that knows how to make these items» but turns out she has the right of it. It was uniformly bad. If you’re not going there to get absolutely pissed on their extensive bar menu — keep walking. Really.

I can’t understand the positive reviews unless you have never had Mexican food and/or never had a good burger before in your life. If that is the case, you need to visit a restaurant or a country that knows how to make these items. You are missing out on how absolutely delicious these items can be when done properly with fresh ingredients! I mean we seriously had to order extra shots just to be able to choke some of the food down. Frozen beef patties are getting 5 star reviews from people? It tasted like rubber. Strange mystery meat they call«beef» is getting rave reviews? There is no way that«beef» was made fresh, tasted like it came out of a can. I mean even the tortilla chips are these strange looking litte triangles with a rounded edge, obviously manufactured at a factory. Is it too hard to throw some tortillas into a fryer and make your own chips? They clearly don’t even have any understanding what a tortilla is. My husband asked if they have soft tortillas instead of the stale crispy taco shells he got, the waiter looked seriously confused. I find it so strange that someone who works at a «Mexican» restaurant has no clue what a TORTILLA is. The food is all frozen, pre-made junk that they heat up and assemble on a plate. They let you take pictures with giant sombreros, have decent drinks and cheesy Mexican décor. Come here to drink and take some funny pictures with friends but skip the food.

The atmosphere is nice, the food– mouth-watering. Go there as soon as possible in order to taste the delicious Shredded chicken Nachos. The Barbecue ribs are also delicious. I can guarantee you a really pleasant time there.

Brilliant spot for another successful tequila Tuesday. Highlights include: – fantastic range of food options, including the chicken enchiladas – huge options for shots, lots of tequila choices, and some very interesting cocktails(give the cactus banger a go) – location that’s spot on, just down from the tube – great service I was mostly pleased to find somewhere on the west-side, highly regarded by the Unilocalers of London, which basically hit all the major points for a good dinner experience. Thumbs up from me!

I’m never lucky when it comes to mexican food: it’s either extremely spicy(when i ask for non spicy stuff) or it’s burned beyond recognition. So, when we went to this place, I was a bit apprehensive and ordered«safe» food aka burger+ chips. haha. Even so, it was delicious. But the rest of my friends ordered proper mexican food and they were delighted. Everybody was praising the food. I tried a bit of enchiladas and they were super good. The staff is super friendly and attentive — maybe a bit too attentive cuz the girl kept asking me questions when my mouth was full. So it was a bit annoying, me chewing and the waitress standing there, looking at me with the biggest psycho-smile on her face: «yes? good??? yes?». The place is quite big and always crowded. They have flashing multi-colored Christmas lights, a cheesy sombrero décor and pictures with old Mexicans. If somebody is celebrating their birthday, they have to wear the sombrero and everybody is singing Happy B-day. If they like you, you’ll get complimentary tequila shots. They like me: P Anyway, I feel like giving Mexican food another try and hopefully I’m not gonna lose my taste buds.

Tequila Tex Mex, is a mish mash bar/restaurant, with it leaning more towards the restaurant side. It’s a relaxed place with no strict dress code. The majority of the menu is Mexican with some nods towards the Texan/American side with burgers and bbq wings on the menu. The service is excellent, I thought it was friendly, and pretty, despite the fact there was another big party in also. While it’s not super cheap it’s well priced and they have a couple of enticing lunchtime specials. an enchilada and bbq wings fro £7.95. The typical main meal fair is a smidgeon over £11.00 but the food is good, and they have pretty generous portions, especially the main meals(which they also do as takeout). I swear the burrito I ordered seemed to be as big as my head(but I may be exaggerating). Overall a good restaurant, and I’ll definitely be heading back.

I’m from California… born and raised! Finding a decent Mexican Food restaurant in London is like finding a needle in a haystack! It’s difficult! Until I found Tequila Tex-Mex! Yay for them! From the moment we walked in the staff was attentive and friendly! The atmosphere of this place felt like I was back in California, and the food… The Food was wonderful! The margarita’s rocked and were very potent… freshly made! I’m a fan! I’ve been back already, and will be back again! I’m giving this place a two thumbs up and a around the world! Did I mention that I adore the staff! Thanks guys!

An authentic Mexican experience in Notting Hill. The atmosphere is cantina. It’s busy with professional staff. Mexican food is basic so how come other places in London just can’t get it right? The service here is quick and the food is good. I recommend the grande nachos and the combo fajitas. It’s worth saying that the food is pricey. £66 for 2 courses with drinks.

Really really standard. It’s like a Wetherspoons but serving things which might just resemble what the peasants ate in Mexico sometime in the past. So! Nachos — tick. Enchiladas — tick. Fish and Chips(what, is that Mexican? or Texan? nope just generic) — tick. It’s a massive space as well, and when we were there, there were only 4 other tables. Which made it feel like one of those towns on the Mexican border, where tumbleweeds are blowing and the townsfolk are hiding behind swinging doors. Them ones. Yup, just really average, and really boring. Didn’t like this brand of tequila ‘n’ Tex ‘n’ Mex very much.

Pretty good fajitas, but food is probably not this joint’s emphasis. Rather, its the extensive cocktail and shooters menu. Isn’t that cheap either, with cocktails running around £6, and shooters at £3.95. Plus a 12.5% service charge added on top. The place looks a bit gringy and in bad need of a renovation. The cocktails were pretty good I have to say, but if you’re looking for drinks there are much nicer places for the same price, and if you’re looking for food there’s alot better tex-mex places too.

Good value for money mexican food. This isn’t hardcore mexican food(it’s a mix of mexican, burgers, ribs etc.) but it’s a nice place to eat on a weekend. The novelty of being allowed to wear a sombrero while you eat will never wear off in my book. Excellent cocktail list, must not authentic mexicana.
