I’m 25 reviews into my Unilocal life and so far, and I haven’t given anything 1 star yet. I started to think that perhaps I was being too positive about the world, so tried to think of somewhere that I really didn’t like… And so I arrive at the page for the Tesco Express on Hackney Road. I’m not sure that there is a single place in London that has generated so much anger in me per minute of being there. The shelves are always empty, they decide to stock at the busiest times, instead of putting people on the till, and you always end up feeling ripped off unless you manage to find an ‘offer’. And then you end up buying too much of something you don’t really want. This is particularly the case when buying meat, which is usually of terrible quality too. To be fair, this probably isn’t that much worse than the other Tesco Express stores in this area of London, it’s just that as it is my closest, it is the one that has caused me to be most angry. When I was getting the bus down Mare Street recently I noticed a new block of apartments being built, with a large retail unit on the ground floor. Somebody had graffitied the hoardings«I’ll cry if they put a Tesco here». I will too.
