Thanet Hotel

I would make this a 5-​star but I had a 3^rd floor room. The room was great but my tired old bones got a workout climbing the stairs especially with luggage. By the end of my 4 days I was able to climb without gasping! If you don’t mind walking stairs, you will love this place! The staff were great! They offered to take my luggage up but being a man, I did it myself. TIP: Take the assistance! The breakfast was outstanding for me but my wife couldn’t get her fried eggs hard enough for her taste. The bathroom is a small apartment size area with shower. The cleanliness of the rooms match any army inspection barrack! If I have the opportunity to return to London, I would positively stay again! The price was also reasonable and it is located near tour services and walking distance to Covenant Garden and the British Museum!

I stayed at the Thanet Hotel over Thanksgiving week and found it to be quite pleasant. The room was small, but cozy — the bed was especially comfortable. The British Museum is only about 2 blocks away, and there are lots of other shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. The staff and owners were mostly friendly and helped to schedule a minicab to pick me up on my last day. The breakfast in the morning has lots of options from yogurt and cereal to a full English breakfast. I did have some issues with noise (creaky floorboards above me, I guess), but overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

Best full English breakfast in Bloomsbury. Clean rooms that are quiet on the garden side. Friendly, helpful staff.
