I’m not too familiar with the Dalston scene beyond the odd trendy venue and my visits are infrequent. I noticed this place on my walk from the station to one of said cool hangouts and sort of clocked it. This piece of local knowledge came in very useful when my friend and I decided it was time for a bite to eat. Walking past a lot of less attractive options, The Bite was the perfect solution. Mind you, as others have said before, these pizzas are not for wimps — and far too delicious not to overeat on. It is quite deceiving from the outside and easily mistaken for a cheap and cheerful takeaway. I was pleasantly surprised at how cosy it feels once inside — despite the stark tiling.

Ah the art of the hidden gem. On first glance you wouldn’t expect this restaurant to be as lovely as it is but it meets all the requirements of a good pizza place. The food is extremely reasonably priced and the portions are enormous(I had the American Hot pizza for their promotional deal for 6 quid). Only thing I would say is the pizza was slightly too runny for my taste but it was still delicious. The décor also is very simple yet cosy, I wouldn’t hesitate to have a date night here or even a group meal with friends. The wait staff are lovely, very attentive and extremely polite. I will definitely be back! Thanks guys.

Quality vs Price cannot get any better. Best pizza I’ve tried in London alongside Pizzeria Santa Maria in Ealing & with the plus of a very friendly staff.

Such a good experience here. Myself and a friend both ordered pizza’s, which were offered as part of a midweek deal(any pizza pasta, salad or wrap for £5.95) both were well worth the money and we will be back! One tiny criticism would be I would have enjoyed my pizza a little more well done and the house merlot, whilst cheap at £3.45 a glass, was not to the standard I would expect. I did not see any other by the glass options on the wine list.

Great little Italian place in a neighbourhood that’s been lacking it. Food very cheap for what you get(under 10 pounds each — a score!) and high in quality, service friendly, atmosphere cosy. Had to take a few stars off for the music, sadly — for the location(Dalston, a land of young folk!) the adult contemporary jazz remixes of artists like Sting and Sade was inappropriate — and because it was at such a high volume, we found it hard to talk over it. Next time, would love to hear some classic Italian vibes — or any kind of regular jazz — instead of these remixes. Would add to ambience a great deal — for me anyway. Just my 2c!

I cannot begin to say how good the food and service was here. The pizza was un-bel-ievably delicious — by far one of the best pizzas we’ve had in London to date — and everyone was so warm and friendly that we didn’t want to leave. The Bite was a really great find and we will definitely be returning!

Walked by this place many a times on my way to something else, usually a little late, so I never had the time to check it out. The window display always looks to cool. Looks more like a nice lunch spot but I ended up having a quick solo dinner before meeting friends for swing dancing one evening. Turns out it’s a cozy modern italian place. Small menu with the usual fare. Atmosphere was good. A good date spot. They were playing this collection of jazzy versions of songs. Waitress was very friendly and helpful. Letting me add prosciutto to their veg calzone. Which ended up being the size of my head! Thing was huge. Calzone and glass of house red was about 12 something. Ate the other half for breakfast the next day. Lovely. Would definitely come back here again for lunch or dinner.

This place is such a treat — lovely, friendly owners who clearly love what they do and are proud of their little joint — and for good reason. The food is absolutely delicious, they use incredibly fresh ingredients and the pizzas have a gorgeous, home-made touch.

Popped in to The Bite to grab a pizza to take to the park. The staff were busy putting finishing touches to the dining area which looks great. Fresh flowers on the tables, home made chilli oil and basil. Our order was taken and the pizaz chef was quick to get it freshly prepared and into the oven. Prices start at about £5.50 for a Margarita which is great value as the base was well made and the topping liberal and fresh. Really happy with our meal and will be back to dine in the restaurant soon. Oh and they are HUGE — never mind pizza express — 1 between 2 left us with full tums.

Newly opened pizzeria on Kingsland Road offering a much more refined experience than most of it’s rivals. The pizza itself was very tasty with just a thin, just slightly chewy crust which was ideal for mopping up the chilli oil and the selection of toppings was more than adequate. I would have enjoyed it slightly more with just an extra minute in the oven but otherwise it’s definitely one of the better pizzas I’ve tried recently

This place! Cheap, quick, friendly, independent and INCREDIBLE pizza Easily the best value pizza, proper Italian stuff. Voodoo rays is great for the American slice but this is the best Italian style by far

I came here with a friend about a month back — we were pretty hungover and we were in a very indecisive mood but knew we needed carbs. Pizza was top of our list — but we wanted lots and didn’t want to spend a small fortune at Voodoo Rays(it’s good but at over £4 a slice can add up when hungover fever hits). Well, I ordered the most expensive pizza — £9! It was beautiful! Freshly made and just as pizza should be! Reminded me of pizza in Italy! Simple, fresh, tasty & awesome value! My friend had the calzone which she also raved about! I loved it so much I returned for a late dinner and got the same pizza takeaway… Oops! It was just as awesome the second time! Defo recommend this place. Staff, décor, food, value, all fantastic!

I don’t believe in handing out five stars so easily, so I had to have a bit of a soul search before rating this restaurant. I decided on 5 because there really was nothing to complain about. We’d been walking around Dalston for about an hour looking for galleries and decking which hairdresser to chance my friend getting her hair done(we chose none, but that’s a review for another establishment) when we decided to get something too eat. I whipped out my handy Unilocal app to see what was nearby and we decided to head to an establishment which had a lot of good reviews. Across the road from this establishment was The Bite and it’s window display of fresh looking pizzas and cute décor drew us off course and inside. Price wise, this place is fantastic. We were going to buy a pizza each(the most expensive pizza being £9) but thought we’d share one as they did look pretty huge. Half a pizza each was satisfying but we wanted more just because it was so flipping fresh and tasty. The thin base was so soft, the ingredients fresh, good quality, full of flavour. The chilli oil is beautiful and the drinks were pretty generous too(£2 a pop for soft drinks!). Instead of greedily ordering another pizza we decided on dessert(chocolate fondant) and our table was completely silent as we both were so taken with the soft, WATM and rich dessert. Literally a perfect meal. And, though it feels weird to say it, but the bill was the icing on such a perfectly experienced cake — one pizza, two soft drinks, two desserts = £20. Bellisimo!
