Nice but a little cramped downstairs. The outside seating wasn’t bad to sit back and have a pint while deciding where else to head to.

OK, barely. Lunch food was mediocre. Burger was over cooked. Cheese sandwich OK. Ale and steak pie only OK. Spitfire — excellent…
I would recommend walking a few more yards to find something better.

Comfortable, apparently old, and very pretty. Note: if you ask for vodka and lime that is exactly what you get – a shot of uninspiring vodka with a slice of lime lounging dispiritedly in it, not a gimlet. The little tables and benches along the window are a nice touch. I actually read a book there for a while on a weekday night. Interesting non-​crowded crowd.
