I’ve been here twice in the evening and both times were very enjoyable. They have some fun themed evenings that you should look out for. Arrive early to avoid paying a entrance fee.

Lovely decorated place. Nice location. Good for hang out or spending a day doing projects. Is my first time here I didn’t know we have to order at the till and for The staff were unfriendly which was a total turn off. I have more to say but is just pointless

Went here for an informal business meeting and it was great! There was plenty of space to choose from on a Friday afternoon and my colleague and I chose a two-seater which had just enough room for our notebooks and plates. The place was quiet enough to have a good conversation and hear each other entirely and had other things going on that were entertaining to watch, such as two guys playing ping pong in the adjacent room. There is a combination of tables(small and bigger) and lounge spaces. You have to go up to the bar to order your food. We didn’t know this at first and had to flag down a worker who told us. We ordered the beet falafel sandwich and orange juice. The sandwiches were much larger than I expected and were really good! I would order them again. The OJ is freshly squeezed.

I had the pleasure of trying out the book club earlier today and it was outstanding. Friendly décor, bright, good for groups and the flat white … Wow … And if you read any of my past reviews I’m very picky with my flat white. :) I didn’t have the pleasure sadly to sample the good offering but the meals my friends ordered were huge and looked and smelled amazing … Especially the pancake with bacon! The only negative comment came from my Canadian friend who noticed they only have«maple flavoured syrup» instead of actually maple syrup … So if your Canadian this might not become your usual brunch spot! :)

Really cool day time to night time café come bar with a lot going on. The Book Club hosts all kinds of fun nights and the occasional vintage clothing stalls on the weekends which are always a great place to get chatting to new people, maybe even make a few new pals! With ping pong tables — and a night dedicated to the game — speed dating, DJ nights and for the more crafty of you, screen printing for reasonable prices it’s a great place to head to if you’re looking for something a little different to do with your friends. The décor is that of a cool New York loft space, with constantly changing art on the walls which is usually available for purchase. The staff are really friendly and all of the food and drinks are of high quality, all while not breaking the budget.

Stopped here for breakfast and to get some work done. Before I sat down I asked the servers behind the bar if I should order at the counter or sit and they kindly said there was table service so I should just find a seat, which I did. I waited for about 25 minutes, was the only person there, and couldn’t get the attention of a single person … so I left.

I really do like this place. Not just for its great location but it has many cool events for all different kinds of people. It also has one of my favourite past times which is a free ping pong table! Result!

The only thing missing here is a decent cup of tea or coffee! Atmosphere is great and the food and cocktails certainly look delicious. But the tea was so sad. Oh, and the wifi is more than a little spotty :(

Very nice atmosphere, slightly hipster — but in a good way! I was here for breakfast and got the bread with avocado and porched egg — very yum! Sadly they forgot the bacon we also order, which would have made it fantastic… I like the vibe and the prices are ok(£31 for 2 x breakfast, 2 x fresh pressed orange juice and 2 x coffees) Its worth a visit if you are in the area!

One of my favourite places to spend time procrastinating and sometimes even working. What’s great: Good vibes, free Wifi attracting workaholics and hypster kids. What’s not: It gets busy at night, especially when there’s some event and you could dry out waiting for drinks. By Day Ideal for getting some drinks, making photos of lattes and chilling. The coffee bar and the morning menu make me feel like at mom’s house — if she had a bar. The burgers are good, not the best I’ve tried, but still pretty good. I’ve been willing to try their freshly made cakes for a long time. You can even play ping pong if you feel like moving and sweating, which is not my favourite thing, but it’s still very cool for a café. By Night When the sun goes down, a crowd of aggressive party people appears out of nowhere and the place gets so crowded, you’ll sweat your ass off. There’s a program of events like live art, music and films. They encourage creative and talented people to share their skills which is the main reason I like this place so much. On weekends, the place becomes more of a nightclub, with local and national DJs. What to expect: Great music, party girls and drunk guys. Also: Drunk boyfriends may appear, be aware!

Had brunch here. Order and pay at the back — the girl was a little snooty but the food was delicious — got the pancakes, and the pesto scrambled eggs with both the parma ham and salmon option. Very chilled and relaxed vibe — very hipster and shoreditch!

The Book Club exudes such a cool, lived in vibe in and is fairly easy to get to in Hoxton. The energy in here is great, it was fairly packed when we went on a Thursday night but we did manage to get a comfortable couch to hang out on. Definitely have some pretty creative cocktails and the food is great also. Highly recommend checking this place out!

I love this place for a cocktail, some grub or even a cup of tea on your own accompanied by your laptop. Any time of the time there’s something for you! I went with the girls this Sunday just gone for a good catch and the vibe & atmosphere was just great!

One of my favourite Shoreditch bars on the weekdays, The Book Club is worth checking out for some post-work drinks and nibbles as well, if you’re feeling a bit peckish. The atmosphere is alternative, but there’s no pretentious hipsters here. My favourite spot to have a catch up sesh with friends are the comfy couches and chairs right next to the door, and the ping pong table makes for a fun activity if you want to get on up and move around a bit. The cocktails are top-notch, and are pretty fairly priced compared to other bars in the area at about £8 each — my favourites are Honey Laundering and Don’t go to Dalston.

The Book Club is slowly becoming my go-to bar when I’m in and around the Shoreditch area. The best places to be seen and heard in change on almost a weekly basis in this area, but with the BC you have a really comfortable space to enjoy a few drinks. I’ve found it really suits every type of night, easily could enjoyably knock them back for that big night out, a lovely place for a quiet one on a Sunday and also an excellent spot for some drinks before running off for a nice meal. The bar is very well stocked, loads of options in the beer and cider departments and also some very good wines that compliment the food menu(which i’m yet to try, this will change soon). BC also have some excellent spirits, great gin is a highlight, and also a unique cocktail list. On my last visit I had a very cool twist on an old fashioned where tequila replaced the whiskey. Ok, it’s something that would make Whiskey lovers revolt but as I love tequila and can’t develop my taste buds enough to cope with whiskey, it was a pure delight. Fresh and also VERY more-ish. I’ll let you decide if that’s a good thing or not.(No, it is). BC put on a lot of cool events and there’s a huge event space and extra bar downstairs that see a lot of gigs, talks and various other cool things to do. Can’t remember who played but I went to a hip-hop night here a few months back and it was great, only a 5er to get in too! Other great things here include the staff, the décor and wait for it… THEPINGPONGTABLE, YES! It does get busy as there’s only one but beers and ping pong is up there with PB&J and Spaghetti and Meatballs. Great spot that I’d more than recommend checking out and if all else fails you can laugh at people bewilderment when they discover the Unisex toilets! BC, BC, BC!

We stopped in here for a drink or two as our second stop on the Classy Cocktail Crawl. I was really disappointed. The venue was REALLYHOT, so we went outdoors and downstairs where there was a foosball table that gave you only seven balls if you put in a pound. And during which time some people(I assume who worked there), went into the closed downstairs bar, pulled the curtains and started blasting terrible music. And the drink wasn’t very nice. And it took ages to get. Just wasn’t really impressive overall really.

This is a cool place to host parties, events and meetups. Have been to 3 so far. the free wifi is also a big plus as sometimes you can’t get signal. Although, brace yourselves during winter as it’s a bit of a walk from Old Street tube so make sure you get your coats on.

(for the club night only) I had no idea what The Book Club was… I just tagged along with the birthday girl and friends on a busy Friday night. I’m not sure if the scene and music changes much, but you’re gonna get your 2000’s R&B and hiphop, some Kanye & Drake, a dash of reggae, and a bit of 90’s. Scene? It’s okay… excellent if you’re still in Uni. The older you get, the less tolerance you have for sweltering dancerooms and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds(or is it just me?). I’d need to visit on its non-club days to get a wholesome gist of the venue.

torn between a three and four start for me. The plus side is the table tennis and pool they have. Negatives are the open area and general environment. Another negative was the drink selection– I had a fine mixed ginger drink(«Gingers do it better’ or some such it was called) — I enjoyed it as there probably isn’t something ginger I don’t like. But the drink selection seemed limited. I didn’t try any food so can’t judge there. It honestly just seemed like it was trying too hard for my tastes. I mean«bringing together wit, wisdom and food… blah blah blah– i mean — just… sigh… It felt like it had a slightly pretentious and forced feel to it. It is definitely not a ‘come for drinking merriment’ sort of bar.

geniale Electroswing-Party in diesem Club erlebt. Junges Publikum, schönes modernes Interieur. Eine gute Alternative zu den normalen Clubs. Getränke wie überall in London teuer. Club war gut gefüllt, aber noch erträglich.

PING! Dieser Book Club ist ein echter Geheimtipp — ready for a game if you are! PONG!

Sehr nette Bar /Club in Shoreditch.
