This is a place for fans of relaxed, near-authentic Irish pubs and Tayto crisps.

Proper local with pool table and local barmaid. England flag was a bonus. Check out the pic. And I won at pool but then my mate wasn’t as god as the Abbott Ale I drank!

Nice enough place, a genuine local for the locals. Lots of bric-à-brac around the place. Plenty of tables for those who want to eat. The menu is nothing fancy, just good food. No real ale. Has a pool table and a dart board, well it looks like a dart board, either that or its a very thin cupboard. Orange walls and a red ceiling, though not too garish. Friendly staff. not many people in when I visited, just 3 Australians and one of them was working behind the bar, they were going on somewhere else as it was Australia day. There are a pair of skis above the bar.

Small and very old pub near Kings Cross and St Pancras stations. This pub has a pool table, sports on tv, and a good history to it. It features as the den of dodgy protesters and criminals in Charles Dickens’ Barnaby Rudge. Dickens lived nearby, although in the time of the novel’s settings there were fields between the pub and London proper. Nowadays the pub is still very much a regulars’ local, although outsiders are reasonably tolerated. It can be gloomy inside, cosy in the winter, and there are tables outside for the summer and smokers too.
