Very nice– if expensive– selection of bread loafs. The protein bread in particular sounds interesting but for such a small, round loaf £3.25 is a bit much. That being said, the brownie and nut and honey cake I got for takeaway were stellar. The brownie has the perfect«chew» texture with a bit of firmness. There are white chocolate chunks to complete it. The seed cake has the mild flavour of honey: not too sweet.

Amazing products. And many are made with spelt! Good service, too! All around great bakery. Worth a stop.

Extremely good food! Though when I last went in it was quite expensive and so it is now probably. Very nice service. There’s not a lot of bread there, for example: it has doughnuts and cake’s!

This neighborhood bread shop offers the best baked spelt treats. There are so many fresh bread options, great coffee and our favorite is the sugar and cinnamon donut balls they so brilliantly place at the entrance, as if we needed to be lured in.

Great little bakery with an assortment of breads, croissants and sweets treats! I had the ham with emmental cheese croissant, so fresh and yummy! They also specialized in spelt flour bread rolls, croissants, pretzels. Ordered a latte noticing their ILLY espresso sign, very smooth.

so so bread. I tried brownie and cheese cake and pretzel. I was bit disappointed to the taste. not buttery, not smooth, and pretzel was dry. not money worthy.

4von5

German bakery in the heart of St. John’s Wood. Great selection of tasty and satisfying breads and pastries. The sweet plait bread was quite addicting but so as the quarkinis balls. I also had the cheese cake tart and the nut swirl that were equally delicious to my taste buds. Aside from the usual suspects ie croissants, cakes and muffins they also have those dark rye bread and spelt(wheat) rolls to enjoy. On my first visit, I was overwhelmed. I am thankful to the helpful staff who really helped me narrowed down my choices. Mind you I came to get 1 baguette and came out with more than planned. It is really not because of my gender or addiction to shopping, it is the mere fact that this bakery allures you from all 5 senses. Yes, all 5 which includes hearing. People around here and far rave about this place. During my visit, I was told by the German staff that they actually ship their ingredients from Germany hence the unique taste of the breads here. This discovery definitely scored me big points to my German mister :-)

A great place to grab something to eat or sit for a coffee in the heart of St. John’s Wood. You can have a nice sandwich(you can have it with spelt bread if you prefer) with different fillings or a nice pizza for lunch. You can then sit on one of the tables outside and watch the activity on the street, or you can sit on the stool bar on the right of the entrance(my favourite place) and watch the time go by(my favourity passtime :) OR you can have one of the lovely pastries or muffins, which are amazing, or one of the brownies(OMG, you cannot go to this place and not have this brownie, it is sooooo gooood!) with a coffee(not on a real cup, boohoo) and sit on the corner area at the end next to the counter. OR you can buy one of their beautifully baked bread loaves, with a great selection of spelt ones(including spelt croissants!) OR you can do all three, and you will be a happier person for the day :) Cons: pricey and the staff tends not to be very nice.

The Bread Shop. So, what can I say? The sign is quite literal. It’s a shop and it sells bread. Except when it sells yummy croissants and pastry And cheesecakes And delicious muffins, brownies and cakes And speciality items like quarkinis, which are little donuts made with quark cheese and dusted with cinnamon sugar As for the bread, they have a bewildering array of freshly baked breads, ranging from Alsace bread to seven seeded loaves. They have a spelt range of baked goods if you’re sensitive to wheat Like most speciality bakeries, it’s not the cheapest bread. So you will need some bread to come to the Bread Shop They now accept credit cards

Holy high moly. I had a quick night and morning in London on our way back to San Francisco. We woke up and a had a few hours to spare so my friend suggested a quick romp to the Bread Shop — just down the road from her sister’s home. WOW! I can honestly say I’ve never seen such an impressive bread shop — including my memories from Paris. You walk into a very beautiful, clean, super organized array of all sorts of breads, rolls, pastries and cookies, clearly marked(ingredients + price) for you to pick up with tongs. They have everything from super healthy(spelt) to sinful(white flour delectables). We ordered a pre-packed sandwich(tomato + mozz on spelt), roll(pretzel), pastry(apple) and 2 coffees and all were incredible. Minus 1 star for the outrageous pricing — but it matches everywhere you go in London — including the airport. I think all the above was about $ 30US. !!!

A professional bakery café offering dozens of types of freshly made breads and also some drinks, snacks and cakes. It doesn’t come cheap, but they certainly got the best bread in the area.

This chic bread bar will have you saying wow this is great! If you’ve ever wanted to choose from a large selection of bread without asking for suggestions tucked away behind a fancy counter, go to the Bread Shop. Here you’ll find a large selection of delicious breads in a cool, laid back environment. You can grab the bread yourself from the center of the shop, pay for it and sit down and relax! Fun and delicious place to go!

(This is the St Johns Wood store I’m talking about) Good place to get bagels, croissants, sandwiches, danishes and other pastries. There is seating inside and outside. Though the store inside looks a bit plain, with the colour of the wall. Other than that, worth a visit when you’re in St Johns Wood.
