There’s few places in London where the attitude of staff are so terrible, I refuse to go back. I went with a group for afternoon tea to celebrate a friend’s birthday. What better way to celebrate in London by having a proper British experience?! The food was fine, nothing overly exceptional. After the reservation was made, I was expecting it to be a great selection of food due to the fuss they made before we arrived that one person had to cancel out of five of us. Very overpriced for what you get, I was not impressed at all. Granted, it’s Chelsea. That’s why we picked the Chelsea Teapot, for a lovely British day out. However, on the day we visited, the staff embodied the stereotypical posh, arrogant Chelsea attitude toward us when answering questions from us. They told us the wrong ingredients of the sandwiches(Really?! Each sandwich has about two simple fillings, how do you not know?) and when we asked for another pot of tea, we were given hot water without any explanation. When we again asked for tea, we were met with the impression that we couldn’t afford another pot of overly priced tea bags(FYI, the tea was nothing special and it was a ridiculous price per teabag). I refuse to support people who are not overly welcoming to everyone walking in the door, regardless of it being in Chelsea. That is no way to run a business. I would much rather see my money support businesses where the staff don’t act like they are too good to serve everyone walking in the door. I was not impressed, their attitudes really ruined the whole experience. It was an expensive, and very mediocre experience. On the bright side, the cupcake was nice.

I got on a metro and a bus with my nieces to visit this tea house, and to shop in Chelsea but it was really not worth the trip. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, everything pastel and pretty the perfect place to enjoy a nice cup of tea and scone after shopping along the high street. The scones were not great– which was a real vacation downer. The tea was nice but what tea house sucks at tea in London? I’m pretty sure bad tea is illegal in London. What I did not like at all, was the owner reprimanding a staff member in front of me. Call a staff meeting when the customers are gone, really, we customers don’t like to overhear you talking down to your staff.

A ridiculously small place with an extremely disturbing and colorful décor. A way to compensate the lack of flavor and originality of pastries and breads topped served by employees stressed by a mistress(of ceremony, THE boss) exceeded, arrogant and unpleasant with customers. I suspect even she is a little racist. Atmosphere to avoid there is more enjoying place on King’s Road.

We were in London for a few days and really wanted to have afternoon tea. The ladies who work here were very nice. We were supposed to call for reservation for afternoon tea but we didn’t know. They still prepared everything kindly. Everything was very dainty. The atmosphere is perfect and the foods & tea delicious :) The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of was the carrot cake — it was dry and didn’t really taste like carrots.

I loved the décor, the lovely vintage crockery, the«secret garden». The café is small and perfectly formed with delicate pastel colours. The morning I went there a stunning waitress was on shift and she had an air of superiority I found intimidating. She did not serve me at the table, I needed to order at the counter and take my coffee and cake to the table. If I were a man I would be happy to do it but as a grumpy old woman I was slightly put off(the place is small, it doesn’t take much effort to bring you a cup of coffee). Nice croissant and cappuccino but I won’t be back. And no, I’m not jealous. :)

Solid place. I didn’t try desserts, but I did have lunch here. My mom’s salad was quite tasty, as was my soup. The décor isn’t really my thing, I kept thinking of Dolores Umbridge’s doily-covered, kitty crawling office in the Harry Potter movies, but oh well. Food is what really matters anyhow, right?

This place is adorable and tasty. We got cake to take home, though you can also sit here and eat your goodies with tea. I had the Victoria sponge cake(gluten-free) which is layers of cream and strawberry jam sandwiched between sponge cake. The cake itself was amazingly moist with a great flavor. The cream was fresh and delicious. I will be back. The gluten-eater in my life chose the highly recommended red velvet cake, which he said was excellent. Gluten-free notes: This place has several options for gluten-free baked goods, which are freshly baked. When I visited, the options were a Victoria sponge cake and several types of cupcakes.
