We got a takeaway from here(extra 10% discount when you spend over £20 and mention their website) with free delivery and I was really impressed. Delivery was really quick, price was good and food was great. The naan was amazing, rice cooked perfectly and my friend asked for extra spice in her curry and was really happy with it. The only downside was I’m not much of a spice lover so asked if what I had ordered was fairly mild. They assured us they could make it mild yet it was still really hot(2 whole chillies, seeds and all, were still in the sauce). Everything else was great though so I’d definitely use them again, just will be more careful with what I order!

Our friends from Texas in the US really enjoyed the Chicken Tikka Masala and the fresh hot naan. The bhindi masala was very fresh, and none of the food was oily. The chili panner and the aloo gobi seemed both served in the same sauce, and neither were spicy.

The décor is basic. The wine is just okay. However, I’ve liked every dish I’ve had here so recommend the food!

Decent to look at inside. Seemed decorated more like an italian restaurant than indian. I had the lamb shank and my wife had the lamb/spinach thing. Out of the two I preferred mine. It was large enough for both of us if we had ordered it to share and the meat fell off the bone. The only thing I didn’t like about the place was that it seemed like it was geared for local tastes and not traditional indian style. Although my lamb was tender compared to my wife’s rough mountain goat, there was no flavor. I should have known what kind of place it was when they didn’t ask me what degree of spiciness I wanted my food. The Chutney has made the fatal error a lot of indian and thai restaurants make by changing their flavor to suit local tastes instead of keeping it real. If you don’t expect a little kick with your indian or thai food then you’re an idiot. Your whining about how spicy the food is has ruined it for everyone else.

After we had spent the entire afternoon and evening drinking during the Wandsworth pub crawl 3 weeks back, I was extremely hungry. I didn’t have much of a knowledge of the area but then I remembered this Indian restaurant that I had noticed earlier in the day, and so I dropped in here. Chutney is one of those typical Indian restaurants that dot the landscape of the residential areas of London. It’s good enough for occasional visits if you live in the area, but nothing worth traveling for. I ordered a chicken curry and a vegetarian curry(one of paneer and chick-peas … an unusual combination). The quantity of food was significantly more than what you would expect at other comparable places. I had to get quite a bit of the stuff packed. The chicken was average, but the veg dish was excessively spicy, which robbed it of most of its flavour. It seemed to have been cooked well, and could have tasted much better had the cook been somewhat stingy with the chilli. The aloo paratha however was very very good(and heavy). The items were priced reasonably and one can expect to have a meal here at less than £15 per person. But its unlikely that I will return unless I am actually moving to wandsworth :)

Definitely a cut above your average Indian restaurant. You have to eat here to appreciate the quality — takeaway/delivery is very good but the food is cooked fresh and only eating in does it justice.

This place was a gem off the beaten track. Despite its unconventional location(it is really in an obscure place) the food and service was really impeccable. The vegetarian platter to start was absolutely gorgeous & gave me a feel for the all the different veggie dishes available. The Vegetarian mains were all exciting — I had a Masala that was perfect. The service was great; friendly & attentive staff. The only draw back was the wine which was terrible. Granted the wine was not produced here & the manager happily allowed us to change the bottle, it did not detract from the meal.
