I got a smallish(maybe 2 inches square) tattoo from Rebecca Vincent here on 29th September. She’s known for dotwork, and I got a black and white dotwork iris just below my elbow, inside of my arm. Went in with an idea, she showed me some photos and I chose one, she printed it off and traced the basic structure lines and BOOM stencil. We looked at a couple of sizes, adjusted placement and we were off to the races. Her style is fantastic, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product. It’s exactly what I wanted, and her shading is incredible. She’ll chat with you while she works, which isn’t always the case with tattoo artists. Really friendly, and very enthusiastic. I plan to book more time with her next year to see about starting work on my half sleeve. As a side note, I found the dotwork portion of the tattoo to be a lot less painful than the shading on my more traditional tattoos were. Might be a good technique for a first tattoo. I also found her to be pretty light-handed with line work in that it wasn’t as painful as some of my others have been, even though it was a delicate area. Edited to note: Rebecca Vincent is no longer at The Circle Tattoo — she’s now tattooing at Parliament Tattoo in London N4.
