I came here with some friends for drinks and then dinner. The bar was really popular and the live music(piano) was a nice touch. They served some interesting drinks. My friend’s mint julep was delicious. My drink was somewhat forgettable(but it was served in a copper mug which was different). Dinner was fantastic. I had a shepherd’s pie(when in Britain!!!) which my friends were quick to remind me would have a mashed potato topping rather than pastry crust, and it was very good. We also had some fantastic meringue for dessert that we couldn’t get enough of. Excellent friendly service and good food. Nice ambience.(No photos allowed!)

I love this place. It’s comfortable and inviting. My favourite floor is the bar/lounge — it’s a bit like a very well put together living room full of sofas. I particularly like sitting up at the bar, it gives a great view over the room and even if you are on your own, it is fascinating to watch everyone else there. The food is obviously brilliant and it’s just such a lovely place to be. Oh, the roof terrace at the top is also fun!

Everyone raved about this place so when I was invited I was thrilled to go. I thought the atmosphere was stuffy and the food was not great. The dessert however was incredible! Popcorn ice cream — AMAZING!

Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here. Unlike many of the other private clubs in London, the food at the Ivy Club is actually quite good.(I had the roast cod because it was recommended to me – and though I am not a huge fan of cod, which tends to get rubbery if overcooked, this cod was really lovely and melty — crispy crunchy on top and dissolve-y on the inside — perfect). The service is excellent, the host and waiters know the wines very well, and there’s no sense of phony poser-ish behavior so common in similar establishments. Very relaxed, civilized dining. (This review refers to lunch in the library.) Thank gawd we don’t have to go to the SoHo House anymore.
