I enjoy being here, all the comedians are good, they always make me laugh. The atmosphere is cozy, it is not a large club and you can feel the spirit. The prices are reasonable.

I went on Saturday and was really impressed with just what a great night it was. The staff were friendly and helpful, the drinks were reasonable, and the place was buzzing. I’m not an expert on comedy by any means, but all three comics were of a great calibre and had the entire audience in stitches. Afterwards there was an added bonus of free-entry to a nightclub round the corner. When I came I was just on a date but I’m going to go back with a group of friends as I now have a membership card which gets me a discount.

Had a fantastic night! Andy Parsons was brilliant and made the evening. My boyfriend is a big fan of Andy(he’s the bald one from Mock The Week :-) so I surprised him for his birthday, he was well happy. The club was packed and had a great vibe, there were at least two bars and a DJ playing really cool jazzy/swing house music which I hadn’t heard before, we loved it. It was great value for money, we even got a discount off our dinner first The only complaint I had was I was slightly disappointed at the house red wine I was served but the bartender changed it immediately. Overall we loved this night, we are going back for my birthday!

Just had a very enjoyable Staurday night at the Covent Garden Comedy Club on the Embankment. When we arrived(all 4 of us), we were a little shocked to find a stage that was about 2m long by about 1m wide with about 25 chairs placed around it. I guess you could say that the venue is particularly«cosy». The room itself was not particularly small, but the setup ensured that the Comedian was almost on top of his/her audience. The other comedians waited in the darkness behind the audience and waited for their cue to come on stage. We had an excellent compare and seven comedians(one of which was an alternative comedian, which unfortunately for him meant that his act was alternative to being funny! — in my honest opinion anyway). However the other 6 acts were brilliant. The evening started with the compare warming up the audience(all 20 of us!) before bring on the first of four acts, followed by a short 20 min interval before bringing on 3 more acts. The fun began at 8:30 pm and went on until 11pm which is great value for £10(even better value for us as we had free tickets!). There is a bar conveniently situated in the same room, so no queuing at the main pub bar, although it was a trek to the loos(not that you want to be getting up to the loos in the middle of a comedians act anyway!). I think it is a real shame that more people don’t seem to know about this place as they have regular comedy nights here(details can be found on the following website ). Its a shame some of the previous reviewers had a bad experience here because we had a thoroughly enjoyable one,(with very tickled pink ribs to prove it), and will definately be going back there. Once you have finished in the comedy club, its a quick walk down the corridor into the Walkabout bar for a continuation of an enjoyable evening.

We had a great night out there, it seemed like the most worthwhile tenner I have ever spent in my London life. It is located on Villier Street, Charing Cross which is quite handy to grab a bite before the show — actually the comedy club occupies part of Heaven before its actual business hours(Heaven-one of the most famous gay bar in town — you must know it!). The drink is in reasonable price, well, lets not expect a decent alcoholic selection as it’s not quite the primary object of being there. I quite like the atmosphere that it’s not too packed, it’s just about the right number of audiences being let into the venue. There are 2 types of tickets — standing and seat. Standing is of course cheaper if you don’t mind being on your feet for the whole period, the good thing is you can sneak to the loo easily. Seat is slightly more expensive which I didn’t regret paying for that, the bad thing is it will take a while to crouch passing through people during the show to get to the end of the seating row when in need of the loo. P. S. — I don’t recommend you girls rushing to the loo at the end of the show because they will close the main ladies’ loo at some point and usher you to share a much smaller one which is quite a nightmare in a very long narrow queue.

I really enjoyed my night out here. There were four of us, ranging from 20 years old to forty-plus, and we all had sore faces from extreme laughing by the end of the night. I didn’t find the venue as claustrophobic as suggested elsewhere on this site, but there are certainly no frills. It’s located under railway arches and chairs are lined up around a very small, low stage. You’re not going anywhere once the acts start, but two bars mean you can stock up on reasonably priced(if a little limited) drinks. There was a really good atmosphere and all three acts plus the compare were hilarious. Very high quality. I booked online well in advance and found myself on the front row, middle — any closer and I would have been one of the acts(actually, if you sit there you will be involved in the comedy anyway). I didn’t visit the nightclub that offers free admission if you’ve been in here first. Highly recommended, but don’t expect leather Chesterfields and waitress service.

Although it is called Covent Garden comedy club it is actually at Charing Cross /embankment. Many of the comedians who play here are also on at the Comedy Store, which means you get the same style of high calibre comedy. 2 bars means you can get served quickly in the interval, and there is an interval between every act, with usually 3 acts in a night. I had a great time at this club as the comedy was top notch, but the downside is they don’t arf pack you in. Squeezed into you school chair style seat you barely have room to move(and I’m only 5 foot and petite!). If you can get into the spirit of things, and a knee in your back for half the night doesn’t phase you, then this place is worth the visit for the top comedians at a great price, which also includes entry to a nightclub(not a great one) a short walk away from the venue after the gig.
