I wanted to give this place more stars but the food was only okay and I don’t think I would go again for dinner. Considering five of us went and we all ordered different dishes and no one was impressed is rather sad. Good location on the main road and always busy but give the food a miss unless you need to eat something before drinking and socialising.

I do really like it in here and it seems to be streets ahead of the pub up the road, that you get all the dregs in. Call it snobbery or whatever you like, but this place is not full of people on benefits day. There is outside seating which they have partitioned off from the pavement, so you don’t feel that you are sat out on a walk way, and this makes it feel very much like part of the pub, no an inconvenience on a public footpath. It does get very busy for post work drinks, both for the local offices and people coming off the tube on the way home, popping in for one. I have to say that the drinks are definitely on the pricey side and sometimes, I almost begrudge paying central London prices, for a pub in Finchley Central. It is clean, nice décor and in the main has fantastic staff, I think that is what keeps me coming back. It’s a reliable staple for me, and when in the area and meeting for friends for drinks, then I do go here. I trust it, does food, and haven’t had any trouble here, or a dodgy drink in all the times that I have been here.

The Dignity is growing on me. It is the go-to place to meet up place in Finchley Central as it’s easy to get to– next to the bus and tube stop. It’s definitely nicer and has a more modern pub feel, rather than an «old man» pub(is that sexist?). Maybe I’ve been too weary of it because it is usually busy and a couple of the local drunks are there occasionally. But the staff are always nice, the selection of imported beers is becoming more impressive, and despite a «loud» vibe, you can usually find some place to sit. I’m starting to come around to enjoying the atmosphere. They have a decent menu, but I haven’t had anything from it.(There are vegetarian options, not sure about vegan).

The Dignity is a pretty decent pub all in all, maybe suffering slightly from its odd position and lack of curb appeal. Externally it is nothing to look at residing in the pretty shabby block of Winston House with only estate agents and a bank for company. Inside however it is a different story, nice comfortable décor and a slightly different selection of beers to the norm. They have the American beer Blue Moon on tap, very nice! I have only ever eaten a dessert in here and then more recently a main meal but I can happily say both were fantastic. The sunday roast, which I find in pubs are generally a pretty half hearted affair was really quite nice, with the exception of the cooked celery mixed in with the veg, raw yes but cooked, urgh! All in all I liked it a lot apart from perhaps the strange insistance on serving table service, to the point where the barmaid sent me away from the bar so someone could come and take my drink order after we had finished eating. I assumed this was because they wanted to add 12.5% service charge but they didnt add anything. Overall though very nice and because of its location not crowded like some places on a sunday, I’ll definitely be going back.

Very well run pub and The Finchley Arrow used to hold their editorial meetings there every month.

Easily the best pub in Finchley Central(although that ain’t hard!) atmosphere is always quite good, and always seems lively. Go on a Sunday night for a live band, quite entertaining!

A very nice place to go and have lunch if you work locally. Varied food from tapas type servings, not-your-ordinary sandwiches to full on burger and chips. Lots of seating outside so good for smokers too. Friendly and helpful staff, It’s definitely my favourite pub on the high road(Ballards Lane /Regents Park Road)

I think this is the best pub in Finchley Central– and you will find me here once a week. It is dimly lit, good with a nice mix of different sized furniture and a cool 30ish crowd. Some of the food is really good– some is average, they used to have a nice special during the week of 2 meals and 2 drinks for 15 pounds– which for some reason they changed to a 5 pound daily special with 4 crappy choices(see daily special menu in the photographs). Try the nachos– they are really good, they taste really good– thick and well seasoned– not like the usual dregs from the bottom of a crisp bag you get in some places. Try the veggie burger– it is also really good(I have been told that the regular burgers are good too). Pass on the fish and chips– it is ok but you can get better at two brothers restaurant down the street.

Here is a pub I would recommend if you are in the area. It is kind of trendy with a good crowd. It has an excellent range of bottled and on tap beers including some of the more unusual types. If you are a wine drinker you will find a good selection on hand. I especially like the surroundings with the comfy seating, block tables and nice lighting. The food looked really nice, I wish I had ordered but I had just eaten. I will definitely come back to try out the evening with a meal. Although this pub does not look much from the outside, I recommend you give it a try.

This place has a strict over 21s policy which is great as you won’t have to drink with da yoof! It’s half bar half pub. Food is not cheap(especially for not being in central london) but it’s pretty decent and usually have something more interesting than usual pub fare. Doesn’t get too exciting at night so good if you want to chat — and nice and calm and spacious in the daytime.

This is a really fantastic pub. I often drop in for lunch with my colleagues any day of the week, and their menu is always fresh and different, not the usual pub drivel by any means. Sometimes the food comes out a bit cold, but the tastiness makes up for it. Lovely cosy yet spacious atmosphere and down-to-earth bar staff complete the relaxed ambience.

I’ve been going to The Dignity for about a year now, its friendly yet trendy bar right opposite Finchley Central station with a wide range of geezers girls and cool looking kids! I got talking to the General Manager who was a top bloke very helpful and informative but most of all down to Earth! After what seemed like a meaty discussion on wheres cool in London, why Camden isn’t what it used to be and his adamant attitude towards the vibe of «chill» he concluded that there was a revamp and big change coming with the initiation of a refurbishment! There’s a lot of wood in here; wooden stools, chairs, tables, floor panels, bar tops and it kind of adds to the place, theres dim lighting and candles, garlic cloves hanging by the Kitchen flap, art works for sale on the wall from artists of different kind, the walls are a burgundy colour and apart from this the whole experience is quite satisfying! Its like really traditional decorations juxtaposed with some mood and layout that all in all provides a great atmosphere in here! Music wise, I see what they’re going for in here and Ian the general manager reiterates this in the conversation, he wants to keep things funky and jazzy with a bit of soul he says, «Kind of like the Lock Tavern(Camden), versus The Big Chill(Brick Lane)…» Having worked in the Lock Tavern himself he wanted to create a good vibe for the paying customer to listen to great acts like DJ Johnson, BIG Chief, and Tom Maidstone and the Band but also to slow it down with a selection of groovy easy listening. Whatever your tastes with a bar easily rearranged for parties and events, dancing shoes are a option worth considering!
