Great location, amazing building and nice interior. Great start. I felt like I was back at uni as the staff were more interested in larking about and talking to each other, rather than serve us. Was planning on staying for food but over heard a group discussing how terrible their food was. Decided to stay well clear. I then realised it was a Young’s pub! It all makes sense now. Why don’t Young’s train their staff? They spend so much money on their buildings then hire untrained bar staff, why? It could be an amazing pub. Very disappointing. The toilets were also disgusting and the smell, oh what a let down. Was going to give it two stars, but after my visit to the toilet, it’s been down graded to a one star. Agh!

Had a delicious dinner here on a whim. My cousin reminisced about coming in here 25 years prior where the room was fill with vibrance and smoke. Fast forward a decade and a half, and you are treated to a duality of a pub and a classy restaurant. There are two distinct rooms, one an old wood pub with TVs and beer pull handles, the other a white table cloth style restaurant. The two adjoining rooms do not clash, but blend together enabling a choice in whatever you are in the mood for. I had the Boar sausage and mash, while my cohorts indulged in the fish and chips. The cocktails and beer came alongside. All was up to par and the experience was enjoyable. The wait staff and management were friendly and visited us repeatedly. Go. DT

Good for a quick drink with friends. I wish the food was better though… Had one of their«pizzas» on my last visit and it didn’t leave me either happy or satisfied. That’s usually my experience with the food served here. I’d like it to be better as it’s close and the staff are friendly and always remember you.

Cool pub but I felt it was over priced. I had dinner here with my boyfriend in the dining area but I would have rather ate in the pub. It would be a cool place to go during the summer and have drinks with friends but I wouldn’t recommend the food. The Fish and Chips was average but it wasn’t worth £12.

It’s absolutey disgusting that any pub can charge £11 for a vodka and ginger ale!!! Had I not been buying the drink for a girl on a first date I would have walked out. This is a pub and not a bloody nightclub. Overpriced and staff who have their noses turned up! Would not recommend going — dread to think how much they charge for average food …

Really disappointed. Just had three course meal and still hungry. Starter of 6 mm thin slice of goats cheese on tasteless unripe tomatoes followed by paltry portion of ok beef stew, two Brussels sprouts and a lozenge of potato, finishing with a pot of crumble that is barely one mouthful. Ok, so I an not paying for this as is work do, but come on… Could try a lot harder. Ambience of bar etc is nice but food let’s it down. [edit] looking back on night sober now, the bar area is lovely and convivial, and judging a place by it’s bulk party menu may be a tad unfair … added a few stars

I would advise you eat heartily before paying a visit to Duke’s on the Green for lunch or dinner. Oh, and you might want to take along the Scrabble. and a good book while you’re at it. This used to be one of my favourite gastropubs but I will not be visiting again after waiting an hour and forty minutes for a very average roast dinner with friends one Sunday recently. We turned up at 2pm and the place was heaving. After half an hour we were twitchy, after an hour pretty sozzled but still food-free. We then asked a waiter when we might expect our food. Soon. It’ll be here soon, he gabbled before darting off without a word of apology. Eventually after asking a third time when we might be eating, some complimentary wine was dispensed to our table. Again, without a word of apology. Then, seemingly an eternity later, a hushed silence fell upon our group as plates of tepid roast beef emerged out of the gloom like a mirage. I had asked for extra roast potatoes, which amounted to two halves of one small potato, costing close to a fiver. I started asking if I might have a few more, but then, thought better of it. A memorable mealfor all the wrong reasons.

While the dinner I enjoyed here was pretty good, this place is at least 20% more expensive than it should be, even accounting for its location on Parsons Green. Also, it doesn’t have as nice of a vibe, in my opinion, as the White Horse across the green, and the food is about the same. The White Horse also has a much better and more diverse beer selection, which is always a Pro in my book. I can’t envision myself coming back here if there’s room at the White Horse instead.

Went for lunch with my 5 years old son. Could not get a simple steack and chips for him, so had to get him the burger. Burger was average but well presented. I had the«english breakfast», also average. The bloody mary is good though and the restaurant looks really nice. Atmosphere is a plus, food not so great in conclusion. Staff is nice, but could be a little more professional. The guy who just brought the dessert for my son(summer fruit pudding — apparently delicious) and took my coffee order was really nice to us. So again good staff. Have a go.

I reckon this is the biggest pub on Parson’s Green and it definitely feels the most spacious whether you’re in the mostly eating room or the mostly drinking room. I went to the Duke on a Sunday and was hoping that whoever designed the menu had spared a thought for the recently woken up and hungover. They sort of had but we were two hours too late — if you turn up before 1pm you can get what looks like a great selection of brunch style food. I had to opt for second best on this occasion — the burger — grilled meat, absorbent bread and a slice of Vitamin C in tomato form. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t cheap(£12) so I really did expect better. Also unfortunately they change their staff far more than they change their menu so you may be able to go along and see what I mean anytime in the next few years.

Sufficient boozer in Parsons Green. Great for drink on a sunny day and always a busy crowd. As pubs go it could be cheaper, food is a lot more expensive than other pubs in the area and for no real reason. Worth going for a drink there, I just don’t go for these gastropub concepts when there really isn’t too big a difference.

This pub is quite similar to the other two pubs on the same green: quite sloaney, rather soulless décor and pricey drinks. However it is massively popular with in crowd of Fulham and gets rammed on weekend nights. People spill out onto the pavement to huddle together and chain smoke but if you go earlier on during the day it is quite a pleasant relaxed pub for a pint or two. The venue is fairly big and so quite good for reserving a table or two for a birthday party or any other private event.

The Duke On The Green has always been a decent watering hole, but since its refurbishment has moved up a class. The bar is busy, bustling but never overcrowded(unless Chelsea are at home!). There are big tables and a couple of comfy chairs — great for drinks after work. The range of beers and wines is good, and a friendly table service marks this place out from others around Parsons Green. The restaurant is also fantastic — a brillliant selection of dishes, all freshly prepared and of a very high standard. It isn’t the cheapest place around, but it is well worth it. Add to that the again excellent ser vice and a large choice of wines, this is a great place to dine.
