Ordered the most expensive item(cote de boeuf) times two(4 people). Waitress offered either pepper sauce or bearnaise sauce and we chose the latter. We were then told that both were«off» and we could have a choice of gravy or tarragon butter. With steak? I asked for French mustard but no French mustard so was offered English instead. Result was me leaving the Eagle to pop next door and buy some whole grain French mustard from Sainsbury. Steak tasted fine and we paid. Final exchange with restaurant manager went like this: «Happy for you to keep this jar of French mustard» «No need, we have plenty of English mustard» «But they are very different and in my opinion the English would overpower the flavour of the steak» «Mustard is all the same» «No it’s not, and I suggest you try a spoonful of each to see for yourself» We spent £90 on steak for 4 people and the restaurant manager has no idea about food.

I remember when the Eagle was a regular«pub», but on the first visit in years it has gone all gastro on me. It’s pretty nice décor inside and they have three real ales, though the focus is definitely on the youth market. At the back they have a dining area, but we were only here for a drink. My main issue was the noise level-blimey it was loud. However, it was a Saturday night and I suspect it is quieter earlier or on a weeknight. All told, it seems a decent pub in this part of the Bush.

How many stars do you give a place that still hasn’t served you an hour after ordering a couple of sandwiches and a burger, but that gives you your drinks free? I’m giving it 2 as I’d racked up a £20 bill before the point of giving up. It’s still a nice enough place and all that(see earlier review) but frankly if they haven’t got it together to walk 2 yards to the table and tell us they’ve got problems rather than keeping on saying ‘just 5 mins’ each time I politely ask when the food will be ready, then there are literally 10 other pubs within spitting distance that are lovely and serve great food to go to. Try the Andover, the Anglsea, The Victoria, The Crown and Sceptre, The Queen Adelaide, The Carpenters, The Thatched House, The Stonemasons, The Grove or the Dartmouth Castle. There. I named 10! Thanks for the free drinks though.

Very well appointed with a back beer garden to die for, but a bit pricey. If you want to spend an amazingly quiet afternoon drinking and catching up, it’s the place to be.

This is a fine pub however gets very busy very quickly and need to be there no later than 7 if you want to get a Seat. I love this pub in the summer and has a great Beer Garden. The food is good and when the weather is nice they have decent barbecues. Well Done. If you are in Shepherds Bush this is one of the pubs to check out.

Pretty average. Food & interior seem to be nice if fairly standard identikit gastro pub. Great garden but indifferent staff mean won’t hurry back as plenty of better in area

Had a few drinks there last Sunday and loved the place. The staff was friendly without being overbearing, the place is comfortable, drinks are reasonably priced and they have a good choice of wine by the glass. Best thing though is that they have a large garden. I also liked the fact that despite being part of a chain it had character. I have had food in other pubs from this chain(The Bull in Westfield & the Adam & Eve near Oxford Circus) and it’s well-priced(for a gastro pub) and good. Definitely go back to when the weather improve to make the best of the garden.

If you are in Shepard’s Bush, The Eagle the THE place to go. I have been there couple of times and I am a huge fan. They have one of the best Char-Grilled Angus Burger(almost 11 pounds). The home made chips are amazing. They always have a specials. On Friday I was lucky to have their duck served with potatoes. It was called«Double cooked duck» and the way they cook is they cook it again with the duck fat. Amazing !!! They have small selection of desserts but they Sticky toffee with ice cream is a good one to try. The ambience is nice. They have a good seating outside in the open so if the weather is good make sure you head there.

Went in for lunch last Friday and there was a great festive atmosphere with a Christmas party at tables near us. They had a good selection of Ales and wines and our drinks order was taken quickly. The food menu looked(unspectacular) British but hearty and pretty much what we fancied. I have the cumberland sausages and mash– 3 delicious, plump spicy bangers with a lovely«herbed» mash and peppery onion gravy. A very generous portion for £7.50. The others both ordered a steak sandwich(cooked medium) which came serevd on it’s own wooden breadboard. The meat was cooked perfectly and tasted like good quality beef. The hand-cut chips that were served with were an absolute delight– rustic(skin on) and very tasty! Ok so it’s not a cheap place to eat but it’s not exhorbitant either and they seem to genuinely care about ingredients and presentation of fairly traditional hearty fare. The pub itself feels spacious but also has some ‘snugger’ areas. I shall be going back!

It took some time to get this place right. Currently one of my fave spots to get a roast on sunday. The garden is lovely and they allow dogs and unfortunatley children as well;). I would say the food is representative of the price. For a chain, I think this is agrand effort. Great service and a good clientel as well. Attention to detail can be felt.

Recently refurbished and reopened, it’s become posher and far more welcoming, yet still retaining the warmth and relaxation. The beer garden at the back is stunning, and plenty of comfy sofas and chairs for you to relax with a pint, or some good food.

This was a down at heel local pub which has been renovated and retained most of its charm. It’s food is good, and there’s always plenty of room. Perhaps the best attraction is the enormous garden in the summer.

The Eagle was taken over about 12 –18 months ago I think and has been transformed to one of the best pubs in the area. The pub is now owned by a group and the transformation from previous to the new Eagle is spectacular. A wonderful and renovated garden which is used for bbq’s in the summer months and a nice restaurant area for the winter months along with a good bar if you just want a beer or two. They have also started playing the International rugby so if that is your thing this will be a great venue to meet up with friends and have a good time. Good food at typical prices, maybe a bit formulaic in terms of variety but I think the garden and general ambience makes up for the fact that you could get the same down the road at the same price. Great range of wines by the bottle and glass, reasonably priced champagnes and all are well looked after as are the draft beers, Belgium lagers and the also have English cider on tap. Not located in the best of area’s but I think it attracts a good clientele and certainly isn’t rough and ready.
