The East India Company

It’s one of the best shops to look for a present to precious friends and family!
Firstly, the taste of their products is so deep. Once you taste their chocolate or biscuits, you will be impressed with their high quality ingredients!
Second, the design of their bag, box and tin are gorgeous so I think it gives the good impression to people who receive!
I am looking forward to tasting all of their products and finding my favourite ones!

Have just been to the East India Store to pick up treats for Christmas. They do have a good online store, but it’s always fun to smell and nibble on whatever tasters are out!
It was pretty busy but the staff were as cool and helpful as ever and it was a respite from the crush of Regent Street. I managed to get everything I needed and I’m sure people will be happy with the gifts; who could fail to love the butter shortbread with clotted cream biscuits, which are so rich and yum, perfect with a hot chocolate made with their dark chocolate flakes.
But the chocolate enrobed raspberries might be best avoided — the creamy chocolate against the tartness of the raspberries was too much. I munched through a whole tin I’d bought for a friend and will have to go back. The pre-​Christmas diet is doomed!

Recently establishing itself as a high end, luxury food and drink store, The East India Company is excellent. Perfect for gifts, it has a range of gourmet teas and coffees, as well as a great selection of mustards, jams, cordials, chocolates, salts and sugars. The store looks impressive as well, they have clearly invested a lot of time in making it look as fancy as the products, and it definitely reminds you of their historical links.
As someone who does not know too much about tea, I found myself a bit lost in the huge selection (I had never even heard of Oolong before I arrived). However, as both Laura and Lynda said, the staff were amazing. They guided me through the different types, gave me recommendations, and let me try quite a few before buying. As good as they were though, they do not compare to the enrobed chocolates, which are incredible. They have nuts, fruits or coffee beans wrapped in chocolate, and the white chocolate strawberries and cappuccino beans are ridiculously good. Luckily (for me more than them) they had free taster samples which I definitely took advantage of.
This place is great for those looking for gourmet, high end food and drink. The price is surprisingly affordable bearing in mind the quality of the products (eg marmalade with gold leaf), and the range of teas is excellent. Thankfully, the friendly staff are on hand to help those novices like me, and helped me choose my Christmas presents which went down really well with the family. Overall, a great modern re-​interpretation of the traditional East India Company.

Was very pleased with this store, went hunting for it specifically during my recent visit to London. The staff was friendly and helpful. The teas smelled amazing.
I bought two varieties and a new steeper. Can’t wait to try them out. Was able to sample several varieties of teas while there as well. If you love tea, check this store out!

Ok, so my husband saw this store advertised in the tourist magazine that was in our hotel room. As he loves tea, I love coffee and we both love gourmet food we decided to check it out. We fell in love! We got there the day after the grand opening and bought the place out (not an easy feat as we then had to fit the stuff into our luggage for the trip home!). The staff were so very helpful and knowledgeable. The food we feel is fairly reasonably priced. The selection is huge. What we really like are all the different items available for tasting.
So, now we return to London a few months later and head there again. It is just as good, if not better! Again, we got a very knowledgeable salesman who we think was the manager. He was so helpful, brewing tea for my husband and espresso for me. Delish!
What was really great was he asked if we were on their mailing list (which we weren’t). He added us and last weekend I got an email with an offer for 2 free gifts with purchase and the absolute best… free shipping! And yes, they honored the offer even though it was being shipped to the US fromm the UK. We ordered a bunch of things and the shipping would have cost us 35 pounds or about $ 50! Quite the savings!

Great place, me and my wife found recently. We bought some fantastic Earl grey tea and a number of ‘chilli spced’ biscuits and chocolates!
