Occasionally you need to treat yourself and Five Fields is perfect for those occasions! The whole experience was brilliant, we have been to a few fine dining places that are similar and this place certainly sits at least equal to them. The service was exemplary from the moment you walk in, its exactly what you would expect. We went for the tasting menu with accompanying wines. We loved almost every course and the bread that was frequently replenished was really good also. The grouse wasn’t to our taste but that was a personal preference rather than any fault of the restaurant. The restaurant is quite small but not overcrowded and there is another space upstairs although we booked there was a few empty tables so I guess that you would get a walk-in seat if needed. The meal is expensive but I felt that I got pretty good value for what we spent and I will certainly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a special treat.

What a fantastic dining experience. We very much enjoyed our visit to Five Fields. The dishes as well as the numerous tasty bites between courses were so creative, beautiful and most importantly, delicious. You can’t help but admire each artistic creation. The sweetbreads appetizer, the lamb entrée and the chocolate dessert were among our favorites. The selection of breads was also wonderful — something unique from the other high end restaurants we visited on our trip. And the servers were all so friendly and helpful. Even though we were dining with our kids, who appreciate great food almost as much as we do, we were made to feel welcome and relaxed. Thank you for creating a special memory on our family vacation.

The Five Fields serves modern British cuisine and has wowed diners with its cutting edge and playful British flavours and which no less had got itself ranked as the top restaurant in London on Trip Adviser recently. «Dead Garden» showcased how amazing vegetables dishes can be when it is done expertly, a selection of roasted vegetable with different finishings to offer a diversity of textures and tastes yet worked in harmony, one of the finest vegetable dishes I’ve had yet in the capital. The foie gras was also magnificent, rich and powerful without any bitter after taste while the quince lifted up the dish with its mild fruity taste…

Very good restaurant. Nouvelle cousine maybe a little fetched, but I liked somme choosed. Fois gras was exellent and the lamb too. Remarkable the bread with butter, with beer and with olives. The staff was very corteous and professional. Good dessert.

Culinary alchemy. This newbie presents a new take on traditional local British ingredients(hence the name, Five Fields, denoting that part of Belgravia which yielded produce for much of London). It is really quite something to witness how artisans at Five Fields are able to bring together downright contradictory textures and flavours of seemingly incompatible ingredients and find new gastronomic harmony. A dessert of artichoke, chestnuts, and white chocolate? Lobster with pear, lotus, Brussels sprouts and mulled wine? Peas, coconut and mint? Five Fields — a non traditional take on the traditional — is ripe with culinary paradox that allows an inventiveness and imagination that will no doubt surprise, fascinate, and delight.

More and more people these days seem worried by a nice piece of linen draped over a table and are intimidated by friendly service if the staff are smartly dressed. If you are one of these people then you should avoid The Five Fields. If, however, you are capable of dealing with a table covered in a cloth, don’t mind staff who let you know what dish they’ve just put in front of you and relish working with an enthusiastic Frenchman to discover new and exciting wines from around the world(think Japan for example) then you should reserve a table here. Those who do will be rewarded with one of the finest meals available in London at the moment. Cooking is precise, combinations imaginative and flavours in turn bold and subtle. Special mention must go to one of London’s most talented pastry chefs who not only turns out sublime desserts from unusual(for dessert) ingredients but is also responsible for what is some of the finest bread in London. In addition to the superb wine list, the restaurant boasts a fabulous bar. Those with a love of cocktails will not be disappointed. Service is friendly, professional and unobtrusive. Enjoy.
