The Fox & Hounds is a bit odd. Not bad odd, just different odd. It has the most un-pub sort of menu. Even for a «gastro pub» the menu would be a bit off. Sometimes you just want to order some chips to share with your friends. Not possible here. That being said, they have a fairly good selection of beverages, the service is very good, and the best part, they have two cats. The cats are actually one of the reasons we’ve been back more than once. My friend and I love cats but can’t have them at home, so pub cats are a winner in our books. Plus, they have a fairly sizeable garden with lots of seating. Win.

Pretty disappointed with the pub itself after the all positive reviews so far — I’d call it shabby bordering on dirty and not in a charming way — more in a neglected way. I’d probably have left if it wasn’t for the back patio which scores big points. I do give them credit for a really nice patio with lots of sun and nice landscaping, especially the climbing plants. They carry Sambrooks and Dark Star beers which is another saving grace but they otherwise have an arguably terrible beer selection. To be fair, they have do have variety but unfortunately IMO it’s all junk. Unfortunately I think there are other, less neglected pubs where one can sit outside and enjoy a Sambrooks in the immediate area.

My favorite pub in London. The food is always interesting with a changing menu of mediterranean inspired fare that sets pub favorites alongside a number of interesting innovative and simple dishes you wont find anywhere else but have enough words in the description ticking the«delicious» box that you immediately want to eat them. Great beers on tap, an excellent wine list, a beer garden and you cant really go wrong. Oh and they have two black cats that look identical but stroll around the pub at their leisure. One can be forgiven for assuming there is only one cat, especially after a few pints, and as a result one is tempted to believe said cat can travel through space and time in order to appear in two very different parts of the pub at a moment’s notice. After a few more, one suspects that one is the only person in the pub who can see said cat and its comes and goes as a recurrent hallucination. Just to clarify: its really only that they have two cats. It has taken me three years to work this out.

Food is tasty Wine and beer are a plenty Wait staff really friendly This is my neighborhood bar and I should thank the heavens because this spot is really quaint. The space itself looks like a normal run of the mill pub with a gorgeous garden and patio seating out side in the back. There are no TV’s so don’t expect to watch futball here, but there’s some games they have laying around so if you have a hankering for scrabble you can quench a thirst for games and beer in once spot. The food I’ve had there like the sausage and mash potatoes are really tasty. Not much else as far as dining goes but the staff are friendly and really a good bunch. Easy place to walk into if you’re alone or with a group.

I went on a Saturday night around 5/6pm and the place was rammed. It doesn’t take too long for people to move on and I noticed the table turnover was very fast. There’s space for big or little groups. The food looked amazing! I didn’t ave a savoury meal but I wished I hadn’t eaten before I went out. I couldn’t resist a desert though — apple crumble and home made ice cream. It was only OK. Not bad but not anything exciting. The price of alcohol is pretty standard but there isn’t a great selection. Staff were nice and polite but when they put the ice in my glass and some fell out — a punter picked it up and put it back in my glass. That was a bit dirty. Other than that the place is fine — a bit of a trek from the station. When you walk down Latchmere Road and think you’ve gone too far, go a little bit further.

A good local pub — combines the feel of a neighbourhood boozer with a good kitchen and friendly service. Pretty good with the baby too, which is becoming a key criterion these days — can I have a meal and a pint with my increasingly vocal daughter without feeling like I don’t belong there. Balance of ales to lagers seems also to have improved in recent times as well. What’s with the Aussie thing though? I find that about half the clientele at any given moment seem to be from there. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but it intrigues me — nothing overtly antipodean about the place so I’m not sure why. Maybe it was the preponderance of lagers, no pub carpet and a menu that wouldn’t be out of place in some of the better pubs in Syd/Melb. Who knows.

This was my first London local and it was every bit the perfect little gastro pub I had hoped and imagined before I’d even stepped into the place. The staff were always so welcoming and friendly and the pub itself is really cute. Decorated in heavy wooden furniture and gorgeously worn leather sofas, the whole place had a great atmosphere. The bar is fully stocked and it’s a great place to have a glass of wine with your Sunday lunch or meet up to have a catch up with friends in nice surroundings. This is one of my favourite pubs in London, a definitely must for any SW11 local!

Love this pub. This is what a neighbourhood pub should be. Great food, hidden and decent sized beer garden. Big tables with room for groups, and hidden nooks and crannies for dates. Apparently they have good Sunday roasts but I have never tried them. The only criticism could be that sometimes when it’s busy two bar staff just aint enough. In terms of the food, you can’t go past the Ragu Pasta, we go here often with friends and often all four of us order it, which is slightly embarassing. The duck is good too. Actually even though I’m going there tonight, writing this is making me hungry!
