I stumbled Upton this fine gem of a stand on the Southbank during the winter festival. It was located alongside other great stalls and near the cider lounge. With me being a fan of duck burgers it seemed like a no brainier to try it. The price was as expected for a food stand in the area and the quality was far superior to what I anticipated. The duck was juicy and the garnish in the burger perfectly complimented the duck. I am led to believe that it is a regular stand on the southbank which is great and I will be frequenting there again soon in the near future. For a quick burger that packs posh quality in a bite sized package look no further than the frenchie.

I first experienced The Frenchie in November of 2013 at the Real Food Market on the Southbank. I was excited to visit the Real Food Market, as I had lived in Waterloo in the fall of 2012 and had eaten at least 2 meals there every weekend. The Frenchie was a new addition to the Real Food lineup and upon reading«Duck Confit Brioche Bun» I knew that my old favorites didn’t stand a chance. Since then, I have bumped into The Frenchie stands in several markets across London. I’ve tried everything they have to offer(they’re all so amazing). Here’s my quick rundown. Duck fat fries with truffle mayo £4(i think?) omgsogood. like too good. I get these as a walking around snack almost every time I see this stand. Perfect to munch on while you’re making the difficult decision of what to eat. Duck confit brioche bun £6 duck confit cooked on a flat top with duck cracklin(omg) and your choice of cheese. In order of my preference: goat cheese with honey, blue cheese with honey, cheddar. The bun is griddled with duck fat and the sandwich is built with mustard, onion jam and rocket. It’s divine. Also, if you have your phone out and show them you liking/following The Frenchie on social media they’ll give you £1 off. Jussayin. Go here.

Went to the Southwark food market over the weekend and had the duck confit brioche bun. They suggested Blue Cheese and nearly put me into a(good) food coma. Really great posh street food. The duck fat fries were just as good! And with truffle mayo! This really was posh food! And soooooooooooo good. Will stalk them to eat more for sure.

Every time I go to the food market at Southbank(which is too often) I always end up getting a Frenchie. It is definitely one of the best street food venders out there. You can choose from 3 different types of cheese(all of which are delicious) and the duck is topped with duck scratchings. There is a reason there is always a queue for this.
