Although it’s expensive, the café is a definite go-to place after touring Buckingham Palace! I am a sucker for anything that is Tiffany-blue and everything in this café is Tiffany-blue. The ice cream was alright, pretty standard. However, I was really pleasantly surprised by the iced coffee! Who knew that a simple touristy, expensive café could have the best iced coffee I’ve ever had? It was lightly sweetened, so there was bitterness and no need for sugar at all! If you’re only going to get one thing from this café, get the iced coffee! You won’t regret it. You need some energy for walking around and touring London!

It’s like having a tea party at the palace just without all the fancy tea cups haha :) I got a cappuccino which was so adorable! They used powder to make a crown on the foam. I also felt the need to drink tea too(so I could say that I had tea at Buckingham Palace) so I decided to get the peppermint tea which was very soothing. Along with the drinks, my family and I shared a few of the goodies from the café such as the salmon and cream cheese on an english muffin and a few desserts. Our favorite treat hands down was a type of strawberry short cake(not sure the name but i’ll upload a picture). We had to go back and buy another after. Besides the food and drinks, you get to enjoy it all with the beautiful view of the gardens.

It can’t get any better than having tea and cake right inside the gardens at Buckingham Palace! I was only a little disppointed that tea/coffee was served in paper cups and paper plates were used for everything else. The cakes and tea tasted good too. Note, The Garden Café is only opened two months of the year. If Buckingham Palace is opened, the The Garden Café will be opened.

You can’t enjoy this place unless you go on the State Rooms Tour(check out my Unilocal about it! It is amazing!) But if you are in the city any time during 27 July — 1 October 2010 you can grab a bite to eat after you tour. The café is open during the palace visiting hours from 09:45 — 18:00 and serves a selection of desserts, juices, coffees, teas, and a selection of small sandwiches. They also serve Royal Ice Cream. It is quite pricey and you can probably grab a bite somewhere else but it does have its perks. For one, I can now tell people that I have had tea at Buckingham Palace(without telling them it was at the little café outside and not actually with her royal highness). The décor is pretty cute with wicker like furniture and a great view of the palace lawn and gardens. Check it out if you want some downtime outside with a great view!
