It’s a very good winter pub, which has a neighbourly atmosphere, and in the winter, they do mulled wine & cider as well as Sunday roasts!

Truly a 4.5. Popped in for our first pint in London due to Camden Town being closed on Mondays. Very friendly staff. Nice beer selection. Not the best we have come across in London, but solid. It was a Monday afternoon but still a nice small crowd. Seems like a great atmosphere. Did not get the chance to try any food.

Old mans pub turned into a cooler, much cleaner establishment that managed to maintain it’s old style charm. Staff are friendly and there’s a wide selection of craft beers and liquor to satisfy any lover of a good tipple. They use to have a Lucky Chip doing a residency here, which I wish they’d bring back because… well, Lucky Chip. It’s amazing.

Really cool pub with terrace. Went there with a group of friends and we had a wonderful time. Burgers are amazing!

We’ve been living in Kentish Town for a few months now and we love the Grafton. The service is great, the staff are friendly, and the food is delicious. Burgers are perhaps their specialty, and are the best of any I’ve had in London. We rarely deviate from our usual order of a pint and burger with slaw, but where we’ve had the chance to try the roast beercan chicken, it’s been amazing. Perhaps the best of any pub I’ve tried in London. On nice days, they also have rooftop seating on the terrace which is lovely!

This is a good olé fashion great pub. Lots of dining space, an open fire, great beers and just generally a good atmosphere. On the corner off the high street, this place has Camden brews, Beaver Town and all sorts of beers to keep you entertained all night. They have a ‘street food’ offering that rotates every couple of weeks or months. I had a brisket sandwich and let’s just say there was five minutes of quiet around the table whilst everyone was engrossed in their«slow cooked brisket, gherkin, melted cheese and pickled cabbage on rye» monstrosity. Stop it. So good. They also have pictionary(best board game in the world) and some others on offer and event spaces to hire for sports or just party. Free wifi and so super relaxed. Can get more party later. So yeah– definitely come by!

The Grafton has won Pub of the Year and so different friends have used this as the pub to meet up for their birthdays. We even went to one of their cockney-sing-a-longs where lyrics were supposed to be given out so we could have a knees up. This did not happen. There was a man on the piano doing contemporary versions of songs, but maybe we should have asked? I think people we too busy chatting and catching up to worry about singing. The atmosphere is nice and there is an outside patio upstairs. The only problem is the food: Not one thing is vegan. I think one thing is vegetarian. Now, had a I called up and asked would they have made me something? It’s probable, but I did not expect all my friend’s to be eating rather than drinking, so I didn’t. I certainly didn’t expect to literally have no menu options. Even chain pubs have a few things to eat! I did grab a bag of nuts to munch on. So for me, it’s just an out-of-the-way pub with no food. I will happily join up with friends and hangout in the comfy atmosphere, but now I know to eat something before I come.

A beautiful pub with lovely beers and quite decent food as well. The Grafton boasts an impressive array of drafts, from proper bitters to excellent lagers(Estrella) to Meantime’s latest and greatest. It has a warm, spacious Victorian interior and extremely friendly staff. You can tell the manager, also a nice chap, really cares about his pub, as it should be! Only drawback is that the outside area upstairs is narrow and gets crowded quickly. Then again, any outdoor area is gravy, no?

GUYS. I just went to Lucky Chip at The Grafton. I just ate the best chilli cheese fries EVER. They totally rule over Meat Liquors. The cheese fries were awesome too(yes I had both… I was in a group of 3SHHH). The coleslaw wasn’t as great as the rendition they were doing for the Lucky Chicken pop-up a few weeks ago, but it was still pretty damn delicious. I also ate(half) a cheese burger. Such an amazing cheese burger. The meat was perfectly cooked and very flavourful. I liked the charred taste as well, the salad was fresh and the bun was glazed and beautiful. I also ate half a Bill Murray burger. Oh. My. Lord. You only have until Sunday to try this before it changes to another weekly special and you NEED to try it. A perfectly cooked beef patty with a deep fried soft-shell crab. A deep fried soft-shell-crab in a burger. I KNOW. Covered in guacamole, spring onion, spicy mayo, sweet chilli ginger sauce and topped with american cheese in a sesame bun. I don’t think I need to explain how good this was.(But just in case: The soft shell crab wasn’t just a novelty addition, it lent a welcome crunchy texture and briny taste to the meaty burger. Like a pimped version of surf and turf. The american(processed) cheese was a good choice.) Camden Town Brewery offerings were out today but the staff were really lovely, the service was far better than my last visit and the whole place felt really friendly and just generally a really nice place to be on a Friday evening. I’m 4 starring not 5 starring because I’m kind of broke and while I think the burgers are pretty good value considering the quality of the meat and other ingredients I think the pub as a whole is pretty expensive.

A good solid pub, off the beaten path, with absolutely lovely staff. This place made me feel comfortable and warm on a rather trying day. Wine prices were average, though I do have one concern: when asking for mayo for our chips, they said it was homemade and therefore cost £1. Skeptical about that but will definitely come back to try the ales!

Good friend chicken and not ridiculously expensive. Gets pretty rammed so best get in early to bag a seat. A sign of the hipsterfication of this area. Nice pub, just lots of skinny jeans.

Quick! Go and eat chicken before it’s too laaaate! Katie said this place will only serve chicken for a couple of weeks… so go this week to play it safe! **I love Katie B for bringing me here** Lucky Fried Chicken is a temporary pop up in the Grafton Kentish Town, owned by the folks that brought London Lucky chip. I have tried to visit lucky chip before, but somehow never managed to find it when it was open… so I was really excited to try the fried chicken version of the famous burgers! We turned up around 6:30, ordered at the bar(and paid with credit cards– yay for not having to wander off to find a cash point!) The chicken arrived within a few minutes, was moist, perfectly seasoned(although some of the outer fried yumminess was flaking off) and sooo good! I ordered a ‘snak box’ which chicken, mashed potatoes covered in gravy, slaw and two warm bread rolls. Looking at the menu now, I probably wasn’t meant to have the slaw, but it was yummy, so I am glad they included it by mistake! I wouldn’t call this meal a ‘snak’ I was so full that I couldn’t even face trying a slice of cherry pie! Hmmm… I do sort of want to go back again for more chicken and a slice of pie… I might have to stretch my stomach. The menu is pretty simple, but really tasty:

To be honest I only drink once a week, it’s an all or nothing thing with me. Because of that and the Grafton’s relative sleepiness, I have never been in there later than about 8pm when I’ve moved on to livelier places in Kentish Town/Camden or further afield. However, it is a lovely pub that’s been sympathetically restored from the old sh*thole it had become. The bar staff are very friendly and the range and quality of booze is excellent. The Friday night concessions for bar food are a great idea too. Definitely worth a look after work on a Friday.

This is my new local! This amazing independent pub reopened offer a renovation a couple of months ago. I first discovered it when picking a location for my vegetable box pickup. Random, I know! But after stopping by on numerous occasions I decided to make it my local. The staff are super nice. The mix of local ales is pretty impressive plus they hold lots of fun local events like a monthly clothes swap and weekly vegetable box pickup along with the usual pub quizzes and themes parties. They don’t serve food every night which is the only reason that I’ve not given te four stars. But they do have special nights where street food vendors take over and offer this menus. So 4.5 stars it is! This is my new local! This amazing independent pub reopened offer a renovation a couple of months ago. I first discovered it when picking a location for my vegetable box pickup. we were meant to have Sunday roast and found ourselves down Kentish Road this pub has a warm feeling when I first got in and the ladies were very friendly and offered discount when I chose a wine that they ran out of. it is airy and sunny and offers selection of game boards which made our stay even more fun by far one of the best times I have ever spent in a pub in London and the roast was very delicious.
