I stumbled across this little spot today. Just 5 days old, this quaint coffee shop already looks like a street favourite with builders and locals shop owners popping in for their afternoon coffee and cake. I spent an hour here and opted for the hot chocolate. The taste was delicious, but when served it was slightly tepid and therefore I had to drink it quickly in order for it to remain a ‘hot’ chocolate. BUT what they lacked in heat they more than made up for in charm. The owner was friendly and very welcoming. He even gave me half of one of their pastreis de nata, which I’m told is a Portuguese dessert. If I’m honest it’s basically a mini custard tart but it was creamy and delicious and I more than happy to chomp away! This area is most definitely up and coming and I look forward to returning here and to this area to see what pops up next!
