I’ve only had massages from one massage therapist at the Happiness Centre. Her name is Maria and she is outstanding. I’ve had millions of massages(I’m from California), but she is the most skilled I’ve ever encountered. She’s very strong and will give you as deep or as light a touch as you like, and constantly checks in with you to make sure pressure is right. She really knows what she’s doing, and she targeted some acute muscle spasms I’d been having, alleviating the pain completely for the first time in weeks. It’s rare to get that dramatic and quick a response. However, the Happiness Centre itself has some customer service problems, in my experience. I’ve twice left messages that were never returned. If you do make an appointment here, don’t bother leaving a message — it may not get returned. Just try calling when someone is actually there to pick up the phone.

The happiness centre is actually a part of your brain, called just like that. These guys aim to tap that part of your brain more often and with quality, drug free methods. Some include Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Pilates and Yoga, Osteopathy and Homeopathy. For this centre was not only a relief and stress free environment to unwind twice a week, but it also gave me the tools and elasticity to what I believe was an easier natural birth than otherwise. Their pregnancy yoga is really good for those back pains and just for general discomfort, the instructor(Karen Stone) is lovely and very caring about what fits you and your condition best. There classes are about £12 or a bit cheaper if you get a whole course of them. I am now looking forward for my massage that I chose as part of a gift certificate I received from a friend.
