Convenient to the Tube and decent pint list. Other than that I cannot comment on food.

Yes, I am a tourist from the states. This place did call to me as I was pretty hungry walking around shopping. I came in early around 11AM so it was quite dead. Got my pie fairly quickly. Sat downstairs all to myself + my friends. Liked the atmosphere to ourselves. Place was decorated just fine. The food was better than I expected but definitely cheaper than some other pubs we’ve gone to few days prior. Service=not really around. They only came to drop off our food and take our order.

I’m not the greatest fan of this pub located just beside Bond Street station. I’ve been here a couple of times; once on a Friday evening where they had karaōke and once on a News Years Eve afternoon. Both times weren’t really very pleasant. The drinks are expensive, the atmosphere non existent, and the place completely capitalises on the tourist factor. The staff were quite rude on both occasions and it just wasn’t a very relaxing experience. In the summer, you can sit outside but the table and chairs are usually occupied with letchy men. It is a shame that the pub isn’t better as the location and size of it alone has huge potential.

Scary… really scary. I have passed by this pub many times and I had the misfortune of having the bright idea of meeting a couple of friends there for pre drinks and since my friends teas me terribly. It is a tourist trap, and it seems a place for mature males to come and flirt with woman. My suggestion, because it’s huge and its well located. Meet there then walk to Soho, it’s a couple of minutes away but you will spare yourself from the tragedy of this Pub. What a shame, it has many good things to offer like the space and location, I hope the owners realize and give this pub a new twist, and soon.

The Hog in the Pond is both set in a great place and an awful place… good because it’s just on the edge of Bond Street but bad because it’s on the crazily busy Oxford Street. I’ve only been here in the summer so I have always sat outside as they have plenty of out door seating but I usually find myself trapped between tourists who have no clue that there are some better quality pubs just a short walk away down the side streets. The reason I have been here more than once is because it’s directly outside Bond Street tube and so it’s a good meeting point but I have never stayed here long. This is mainly because I can’t stand the loud noise of taxis and buses rumbling past as well as the many numbers of people weaving past the tables. It is also because the drinks are way over priced but i guess this is because they get vulnerable tourists coming in so they can crank the prices up a notch. It’s not somewhere I’d recommend as there are plenty of other places near by that are much cheaper and have a much better atmosphere.

Overpriced, tacky tourist trap pub steps from Bond Street tube station, Anytime I’ve had the misfortune to find myself here, the tables have been populated with suited local workers getting pissed on jugs of vile cocktails, or Mediterranean tourists winking and making lewd comments at the sophisticated shoppers wandering by. They do have a lot of outside seating, which is ok for the summer. And inside it’s really massive(and it smells). I’m really not a fan. You have to be really wary of any restaurant and bar near a tube station, right in the centre of town as they tend to be solely aimed at tourists and massively expensive. This place is ridiculously expensive, with a pint costing as much as £4. Avoid at all costs, it’s worth exploring local side streets to find alternative watering holes.
