This is a traditional pub with a few nice touches. It doesn’t take itself seriously, but it knows what it is and delivers what you’d expect from a pub. A gutsy down to earth boozer, without the choice locals. Good selection of pub style drinks, enough to please everyone without trying to fail at making cocktails. It does what it says on the tin! Love it! Kx

I went here a couple of nights with my friend before an *ahem* exercise class! Our excuse was we needed Dutch courage and some food post-work and pre-fitness. We went here as my friend who lives in the area, and I did years ago, used to live behind the pub and said it was alright. What was even better as it was a lovely, kinda warm evening after weeks of torrential rain, we sat outside in the nice, al fresco area. There was a nice, varied crowd there and a few people were sat inside too and the space inside of the pub is simply huge! I noticed Sky Sports was on the telly’s inside so it seemed a good place to watch Sport, again especially because of the size of the pub. I enjoyed a pint of cider and when I asked which kinds they had, I was greeted with an extensive selection and the barman didn’t seem peed off to be asked, like others tend to. Both of us had a Fish Finger sandwich which came with salad but we were disappointed by the sandwich because neither of us have known for it to come with mayonnaise?! Tartare sauce — YES. Tomato sauce — YES. Mayonnaise — NOWAY buddy. And after this, I can see why buddy would say no way, it just tastes all kinds of wrong. :-s The rest of the food menu looked good and there was a great deal of choice. I would definitely return here and would recommend it. Located well, inbetween Tooting Broadway and Bec but closer to the latter.

My local at just a stones throw away yet I’ve been there a handful of times so it does lack something — maybe the location is a bit less convenient for my friends. They do quiz nights and show all the good sport, but it lacks a proper atmosphere. They need more. Great pub for catching up and being able to speak to each other, real fires, 3DTV(excellent for sport and films) and the staff are all pleasant. It can get cold in there as the smokers area door always seems to be open. Food is quite tasty, standard pub grub, but it does take a while to get to you unless the pub is quite quiet, which it usually is. I don’t know why there’s always a table to be found, for it has so much potential to be better and more inviting.

This is a rather large pub with a good selection of drinks on offer. The pub is always pretty dark so it feels like a great pub in the winter; however it has a large beer garden with many tables that is great for the summer. With a large room at the back that is generally used for people watch sport it can be busy there during the normal football /rugby zones. There is another TV in the main area of the bar as well(though the sound is usually not on with this TV). The food is pretty good and if you are hungry you are going to fare better in here than in the takeaways and restaurants outside(unless you are in the mood for a good curry). Have arranged to meet people in here a few times, even though it’s by no means the closest pub for anyone, so we must all enjoy it. I have had to wait at the bar for longer than I would normally expect a few times, however I think I might have simply been unlucky due to large drink and food orders ahead of me.

A lovely Victorian-era pub in the heart of Tooting, The King’s Head was designed by a once-famous(and now deceased) architect who went by the name of William Mortimer Brutton in the late 1800s. If there is any country on Earth where an architect would be commissioned to design a pub, England would be it. As a result it’s a beautiful place, with comfortable seating and good food to boot. The inside is simply cavernous and they have really nice outdoor areas, so this pub is a must for summer pints and eating. Each week they have a live band playing a mix of covers and originals, and there may not be a better place to sample staid British cuisine at its best. Service is quite nice as well, solidifying this pub’s unique place in between a mass existence of Asian restaurant and food markets.

Looks like an old mans pub with a mixed crowd. There is alot of space and you can bag yourself an area if there is a few of you. There is also a beer garden that is nice in the summmer.

Lovely looking pub inside, complete with acid glass panels and comfortable sofas. Bar staff are reasonably friendly and they serve great food. Nice big beer garden which is particularly good for lazy Sundays in warmer weather. Good for watching midweek sport as it’s usually quite quiet.
