Visited the Lost Angel with friends on a Saturday evening and can’t understand the hype. There was a smallish entry fee per person, and inside it feels like just another pub trying to market itself as a bar. Drinks were an average price, service was also average and the bar was packed with a young crowd. There was nothing particularly bad about the Lost Angel, but there’s nothing special about it either.

Absolutely worth a visit! The place is buzzing with good energy has a very friendly staff. Sunday afternoon was very chilling, there was an offer £20 and drink as much Bloody Marry as you can=-) ooops. =-) Great bar, and even though we did not come for a big meal, my friend was very happy with his burger and chips.

Indeed the steak house(Gaslight Grill) portion of the lost angel feels Victorian inspired. I very much enjoyed the décor– it enticed me to stay and return. The fire grilled steak was superb and the choice of sauce accompaniments almost overwhelming. I rather enjoyed the old-time feel of the place and they truly offer interesting drink concoctions. I may even have to try one of their cocktail classes– looks like a bit of fun.

Really good food, when we ate at the restaurant and quirky interior. Their steaks are amazing! Went to the bar 2 times in our stay to London. Their drinks are really good and different. Worth the extra money. Any let down, was that after being there 2 nights in a row(and ate there once), we weren’t allowed in on our last night even though there was hardly any people in there.

Good music and pretty people. This place was really great on the late summer night that I was there. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were packed. The smokers gathered in the outdoor space which was more mellow than inside. Dancing and drinks was had indoors by our group. It was a shame there was a door charge but we had fun so I shouldn’t complain.

This place is amazing! Everywhere from the décor to the music to the drinks to the food. The staff is very accommodating. The décor is very eclectic and plenty of cool and comfy places to sit and people watch. The music selection is awesome including 80s and dub step/electronic club music. Absolutely adore this place :)

I happened to go to this pub twice in two weeks and had two completely different experiences(both excellent!) First time was on a Saturday night. We arrived at about 5pm and settled into the bar as it got more and more packed and steadily louder! It was a cracking evening — there was table service and lots of lovely cocktails, brilliant atmosphere and good music(at one point Pink Floyd!). The décor is really interesting too — gothic, shabby chic and eclectic. The next week I came here with a different set of friends after going to the Affordable Art Fair(brilliant by the way!) It was a Wednesday evening, about 7.30pm and the pub was really quiet. We were able to walk in and get a table in the restaurant(there was no hope on the Saturday!) So we sat down and tried their food properly this time. OHMYGOD! If you like your red meat, this is place for you. My three friends had various steaks and I had the venison. It was all absolutely delicious. The best thing is that you get three(yes, THREE!) sauces with your steak and there’s a huge list to choose from. I only got one(perfectly relevant) sauce with the venison, so I dipped into the others, and we voted the walnut and truffle sauce(not creamy, yey!) the best thing we had ever tried, ever! Why were we the only ones in the dining room? Well, it isn’t cheap, but it’s fab — the chips alone are worth going for(thrice-cooked, hand cut!) But, this should be packed every night of the week and twice on Sundays. It’s bloody amazing!

Love this bar, its the 2nd time I have been in 2 months and on the rare occasion that I do go out, I try to avoid going the same place twice. However this place I’ll make an exception to that rule. The interior to the pub is dead quirky and they have so many cool things on the wall. Great little oddities scattered about and the outside area is amazing. The lighting and the atmosphere of the pub is great and its nice to actually be able to stay in the same pub all night. Its happy hour before 9 and the cocktails with the lychee in for £5 are my favourite! We had sunday dinner here a while back and its really tasty. I can recommend the chunky fries as well. Mmmm

So knowing my love of NYC bottomless brunch/bloodies options, a friend randomly passed this place on a Saturday night and saw a sign for bottomless bloodies on sunday(a rarity in london), and sent me the pic immediately. Needless to say, I was there the very next day. Not a huge fan of the area, and it’s pretty difficult to get to from Fulham/Chelsea, which by itself will make it unlikely I’ll return, but there are some big pluses, and some minuses as well of course. 15 pounds for all you can drink bloodies — which you build yourself! LOVE build your own bloodies, and they have an incredibly wide array of ingredients for you to add at your leisure. Unfortunately, they add the liquor(which are infused, although I couldn’t really tell, and none tasted spicy despite being horseradish infused.), and a TON of tomato juice, so ultimately, after three bloodies, you’re too full to want any more, and still stone cold sober… I asked for my second two bloodies to only be filled halfway with tomato juice, but as they added the ice afterwards, both were still basically filled to the top with tomato juice. So that kind of sucked… The place itself is really cute, a nice ambiance, and pretty crowded on a Sunday, presumably with people there for a roast(you can add on a roast to your bottomless bloodies for 10 pounds). There aren’t too many tables or bar seats available for just drinks, although luckily we managed to score one, as people who came after us were more or less screwed. One large group that was there for a roast ultimately moved into the front bar area, and were essentially standing on top of us for the remainder of our time there, which was a bit awkward, so gave us a bit more of a rush to leave. Additional pluses: the bartender was great, beyond friendly, and just seemed super helpful. The rum and cokes were very cheap(4.50 pounds?), and they had a fairly extensive drink list — especially if you drink gin(their focus). Negatives: and this is more a personal preference, but they have live music on Sundays, so you literally cannot hear anything(including the person you’re with, inches away), as the screaming is so loud… plus I don’t like most live music anyway, so honestly that would be a big deterrent to returning… All in all, if in the area, worth checking out, even if only for a few cocktails — or if you think you can stomach massive quantities of tomato juice, the all you can drink bloodies are a great deal!

This place is amazing. The decoration, the atmosphere, the venue… Usually I prefer sitting in gardens but for this restaurant I can’t decide. I like the vintage style of everything — paintings, colours and even furniture. What I don’t like is how crowded could be sometimes — you can hardly find a table. But there’s a reason for this. Not only the place is nice but food is even better. I’d never believe if someone has told me I’d like rabbit legs, but you know what? They’re d-e-l-i-cious. And sauces are soo tasty. Highly recommend this place.

What can I say, this is an amazing place! Only considering the decoration and all the stuff in it is enough to make my day. Although it’s not in my neighbourhood, I tend to visit this place for either a cocktail or a lunch. Heard from friends that the at night its even more exciting, can’t wait to got for a comedy or film night. The drinks and food are amazing and surprisingly not overpriced as I first thought. The staff is friendly and polite and everything is offered with a smile which improves the atmosphere in the place. I love the fact there are 3 bars in total(two inside and one in the garden) where I can chill off with a nice Martini. I’m sure to come back to The Lost Angel again!

This is one of the few places that I’ve been where when you look around, people were having a genuinely good time. This may become my official spot from now on. The music was great and we danced like fools for hours. Regarding the cocktails, they have an extensive menu but I switched to beer because they were either too girly, sweet or weak.

We’ve not been to the Lost Angel for a night out — more to sup the cocktails and ales and to have a meal on a mid-week evening. The venue isn’t open on Mondays(I guess it’s not a partying night in Battersea!) but both times we have been were Tuesday/Weds. The décor as commented on by the other reviewers is quite interesting — it’s always nice to be in different surroundings with lots to look at and talk about. Sadly the phone box can’t be used! Cocktails are very varied and borrow from many influences(and a lot are from Lost Society) but there are lots of new additions and interesting tastes and flavours. There’s probably something for everyone. Food-wise, the food was amazing on our first trip in November 09 but in Feb 10 it was a little disappointing. The first visit’s food was absolutely amazing — duck breast cooked to perfection, chorizo mash was silky smooth and beautifully flavoured, red snapper and herb butter was a great balance of delicate flavours, and the desserts were to die for — chocolate fudge cake and vanilla ice cream, while simple, were soft, hot, cold and perfect, and the crème brûlée of the day was totally handmade and just what was required. However on the second visit the food was a little less impressive. We’re not sure what it was — it just lacked a little something to make it sing. It may have been a new chef, and then menu had been reduced somewhat in size, but it was definitely different, and more«pub» than«restaurant» fare. I guess you can’t be good at everything all of the time! Not to put a downer on it, it’s still an interesting place to go, but it may be a little time before we return, just to see if improvements have been made. It was certainly quiet both of the times we visited — the first time there were only a handful of other patrons — so maybe the streamlining of weekday evening provision is to help cut costs and make the cash-in-pocket weekends a bit more lively. Still worth a visit though!

This was a case study in drunken awesome. I didn’t even know that this many people existed South of the river, but hundreds managed to cram into this eclectic little cocktail bar/gastropubtastic venue. …And get reeeeeeeeeally drunk off of some of the Capital’s best cocktails. Stemming off of Lost Society fame, the Lost Angel did not disappoint. It helped that there was really incredible food and drink — I had the best Old Fashioned I’ve ever indulged in, and my friend drank something along the rhubarb, pear and lemon front that knocked her socks off. The food was just as impressive as the cocktails, and on Thursday and Friday nights, they offer two courses and a cocktail for £20. 1 cocktail, 4 scallops, 1 red snapper and too many pieces of gnocchi later, my tummy was happy, my head was buzzing and the Lost Angel had apparently been found by every living resident South of the river. Service was pretty awful, but in fairness, the venue was literally heaving, inhaling and exhaling people every second. But there were hanging trombone lights, And a glowing picture of the Queen. And a bunch of drunk people in aviator costumes. So I was too amused to notice. If you manage to find this little lost angel, I recommend you pop in and raise a little hell with the regulars.

This is a great venue, and is a lively addirtion to Bars/Pubs in Battersea. The staff are very proffessional and friendly. The cocktails are excellent and good value, the food is good whether you require a snack or something more substantial. The venue can be very busy with a lively crowd but it also provides a more relaxing atmosphere at other times with a lovely garden for relaxing in.
