Good fish and chips. The fish was breaded lightly — just enough. The chips were tasty, and not too greasy. The restaurant is in a renovated cinema, so the décor feels more like a generic restaurant or sports bar than a pub. If you’re looking for an «authentic» pub experience, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for good and reasonably priced pub food near Leicester Square and Tottenham Court, this is a good place.

What can I say, it’s a weather spoons. There isn’t much I can say that hasn’t already been said on previous reviews about this place. It’s probably the cheapest place in the west end and that’s the only appeal.

It’s a Wetherspoons in central London, so it’s a bit pricier than others that are slightly further out, but it’s ok! Still a cheaper alternative to other central bars, and it’s large with plenty of seating and bar space. It was very, very busy on a weekday, early evening, but I imagine it is all week long. Not eaten there, but as it’s a spoons you can probably guess what to expect. The building itself looks like an old music venue, and the décor suggests a musical theme(guitars etc). It didn’t take me long to get served, and the bar moved pretty quickly, which is a standard thing in ‘Spoons normally since everyone probably already knows what they’re drinking from the last time they were at one, plus they have a full drinks menu on every table anyway. They have a decent size projection screen and I imagine the atmosphere is pretty electric during the football.

I have been to this pub in two occasions. First of them was ok, Central London Wetherspoons, so reasonable prices for the reasonable food and drinks. Very busy, but to be expected due to the location. Second time here, horrible. Super busy again, expected due to Friday rainy afternoon, even though the place is quite big and it was not that late. Took ages to order and obviously no place to sit. It is fine, let’s have one drink and leave. The staff at the bar was rude and impolite. And that is a big ‘NONO’ for me. We moved to a side, but we were so upset that left without even finishing our drinks.

Nice selection of beer ales and cider, 2 bars so don’t have to wait too long, sells sam adams which is a bonus, food was good, cheap and cheerful for central London with a good atmosphere.

Consistently good service(been popping in for years) and always somewhere to sit despite how ridiculous central it is. My only jibe is how much of a schlep it is to get to the ladies’ toilets. The upside of that is that they’re always pretty clean, however!

My husband and I have been going to this pub for years. We like it here. It’s absolutely massive inside and across two floors. Their décor is right up our street, random electric guitars and other cool stuff. They even have these little booths along the side making it look so attractive. We’ve never dined here but the impression of a Wetherspoons-like food menu is present.

This place is great if you love a pub that has lost everything that makes it a pub. It was tolerable for my first few visits, but after tonight, I will specifically warn against visitors to London from now on. So there I was, right, trying to have dinner with my friends. All meals but one came out. That meal never arrived. When asked, the bar staff insisted the meal was served. The«manager» went as far as to say he checked the surveillance camera to prove it was served(though he would not show us said evidence). He proceeded to call us liars in a loud enough voice, one might say he was yelling at us… I say«manager» because he told us his manager refused to refund us. When we asked about his being the manager, he stumbled… «er, I mean, I won’t take it off the tab…» Awful. Never again.

Offering the best range of drinks I have ever seen in London, this pub certainly has something for everyone. Wide screen tvs are well placed throughout, the bar is of a good length and so well serviced that you don’t normally have to queue much. Its main downfall is that seating is often hard come by and the atmosphere is not accentuated by music which when used well can make a venue yet more enjoyable.

Not the most cozy place, but deasent food and a good selection of Ales on tap. We were there on a thursday and that means Curry. :-) We ordered one Rogan Josh and one lasagne. Have to say that the curry was far better than the lasagne. The selection of local ales is this chains strong point. It is worth the visit, but don’t expect to much of the kitchen.

Its got what every other Weatherspoons has — cheap alcohol — what more do you want? Its clean and very big — its always busy but you are always bound to find some seats! Its a chilled out relaxing place for a pint after work, its also conveniently located near Tottenham Court Road and Leicester Square tube stations.

I don’t suggest staying away from any place and I won’t here but I would suggest you eat before you get here and start drinking. The beer is plentiful and cold. If you think if this place as a place to drink and not a place to eat you will be well served. Sorry I couldn’t recommend anything to eat.

This place was a very solid place to meet up with friends. If you want to grab drinks and chill out with good folks, this is the place to be. There are plenty of signs reminding you to watch your bag for thieves, which is actually fairly helpful(and a bit sad eh?) for me who is a tourist who isn’t as aware or used to dealing with rampant theft. It’s nicely placed in central London and still avoids the anxiety-inducing prices that the area is known for. Also there’s a ton of room, so you’re almost always guaranteed to find a place to sit. The service is decently friendly and the food also succeeds at hitting the spot. Probably cus you’ll already be a bit buzzed anyways. I don’t really get the hate on Wetherspoons. From my experience it’s quite sufficient in delivering the mediocrity but decent prices it promises. The staff was friendly enough and the food was deep fried to expectations. If you need a cheap drink, this is the place to be!

Yes it’s a Wetherspoons, get over it. Nothing super special, but it’s just fine and dandy! This place is huge and yet, is always busy(and oddly a good place to meet with friends). It’s probably rammed for the two best things about it: cheap drinks and giant tv screens to watch the sports. They have lots of vegan beers available– and on tap as well. I haven’t had any of the food, but it’s inexpensive as well and has the calories listed on the menu. Oh, and ladies, either go to the toilet when you get there or don’t «break the seal» because the toilets seem to be located in the next postcode up 100 stairs. It can be a bit tricky after having a few drinks!

Basically, you get what you pay for with this place. Yes, the food is cheaper than most other pubs in the area, but it’s also not very good. It’s decent and edible and fine for the price, but don’t expect great food. This place is quite large, so you’ll likely always find a seat somewhere. There’s also a little gallery at the top overlooking the pub, which is quite nice. Overall I did enjoy the time here, mostly because of the company I was with, and I’d definitely come back, but not for the food…

I love Wetherspoon’s pubs but this is honestly one of the worst I have ever visited. At night this place is absolutely rammed with youngsters getting pissed on cheap hooch. Also older people getting slammed on the cheap stuff. They show big sporting events here, which REALLY draws the riff raff out of the woodwork. In fact, JDW claim on their website to have the BIGGEST screen in the West End. They do have some cask stuff but really you would probably be better off heading elsewhere to enjoy a pint. Also, they are Cask Marque Accredited here!

It’s a giant Spoons. It is always loud and sticky and a bit meh, but when not terribly busy, it can be a decent spot to sit down and have a nibble and a drink. All the times I’ve ever been here have been through the organizing of someone other than myself! The last time we were in(this past Friday), we dealt with the rudest staff member. The bell rang for last call and suddenly 3 men in fluorescent vests were there to usher us out of the back half of the pub. Not kindly, either. «This area is now closed. You need to leave.» No 5 minute warning. No politeness at all. So we begin to gather up our coats and scarves and bags and the one guy gets in our face«You need to LEAVENOW! I already told you!» — to which I not-so-nicely replied to him to «calm the f* down — we’re just getting our things.» He was taken aback at my equal response to his nastiness and a few in our party all said that we were just getting our coats on, etc. He then said that we had 15 minutes til the pub closed, but that this area was closed right now and he didn’t mean to imply that we had to actually leave the premises. Sure, dude. You were all sunshine and roses… ugh. I fully understand the need to have people clearing out sections of an establishment toward the end of the night. But harassing jerks do not need to be in the mix of employees doing that job. Not impressed.

i find myself coming here from time to time when i’m in soho and want to enjoy a seat with my drink(not always easy to find in this area!). in principle, i’m not a huge fan of wetherspoons, so i do tend to avoid them. i have to say though — this place is cavernous so you’re always able to find a seat. they tend to keep it quite clean, there are lots of servers/bars so you are never waiting too long, and the prices/selection is reasonable. even the toilets are nice and clean — a plus point which is so often forgotten about, even in decent places. i was disappointed that they had a well priced bottle of gavi di gavi on their wine menu, but didn’t actually stock it. BOO. we settled for a bottle of new zealand sauvignon blanc and it was really great, and well priced at £16 a bottle. probably the best deal in the area. i know i’ll return here. it has location, seats, and good prices. i’m sold(& this particular wetherspoons even plays music, which is nice).

This is a Wetherspoons pub located in Central London so the prices are great value compared to a lot of other pubs in the area. I prefer this branch to the one in Leicester Square which is not a spacious and can get a bit more rowdy. I like the fact that there is a balcony on the first floor overlooking the pub and it’s a bit quieter up there. It can get quite busy in here particularly if there is a sporting event on as they tend to show them on their projection screen.

I’m really disappointed in Montague’s because it was literally just last week that I gave this place a good four star rating. A friend and I came here on a busy night and the place was packed. We scored a table and began to order their«Christmas Special» dinner that was advertised on their table menus. The bartender told us that they have«delayed» the deal and were not offering the deal until next week. The deal states it would be available from mid November to mid December… this is a big problem because if they aren’t offering the deal, they need to most definitely remove those mini table menus immediately and even offer some type of voucher as compensation for the inconvenience and FALSEADVERTISEMENT. I was very distraught about this situation because they didn’t seem to be at all concerned that they were still displaying the deal even if it was entirely ineffective for order. The bar-staff was busy but not THAT busy to act like total pricks. They were emotionless and careless. They didn’t give half a shit for their customers… I stood there for 25 minutes trying to place my order and they were helping people out of order. The woman that helped me almost refused to substitute my side salad for mashed potatoes and she walked nearly across the entire restaurant to ask if it were okay. Ridiculous. Foul service and shameful. Also, it was very embarrassing that the waiter asked my friend for her receipt as he placed the dish under her nose. Very unprofessional and it was his job to make sure that he served the right table before presenting the dish in front of her. P.S bring your tupperware… If you can’t finish half your plate like I couldn’t …they don’t offer take away boxes. Money down the drain.
