The Burger are very expensive but it’s lots of food and the new Texts burger is really yummy(too with chilling on carne). My meal was too big to finish. Staff are lovely but the place is always so packed in the evening that it can takes ages to get your food. Good spot for early drinks as part of a night out.

The bar looks nice and the staff is efficient but i was well disappointed at my drink for it was the most distasteful Chardonnay i have ever drank in my life. Seriously, i didn’t know wine could taste that bad. I had a good time there but the Chardonnay thing ruined it for me and i couldn’t forget about it while i was painfully sipping my way to the bottom of this glass of wine. My friend was really happy with her prosecco and mango mojito so you might want to skip the wine and try that.

Excellent quality/price ratio. Good atmosphere. Nice employees. They don’t have carling but have excellent offers depending on the day

This is Wetherspoons, in central London. Always busy, always sticky — Always cheap and convenient, no airs and graces, but consistent and a reliable for wasting half an hour.

One of many pubs we visited on New Years eve Pub Crawl, I must say location makes this pub more appealing than it should be. Its located in Leicester square area with many tourists. I didn’t order any food and my review is based on service and drinks ONLY. Drinks were priced reasonably however service was just okay and almost comical. One of the managers was next to us chatting with a guy which we found out later that was her boyfriend and the minute she saw us talking to him(we were just asking for direction) she turned all bitchy and start slamming dishes around and just looked very bitter. I almost wanted to say something but I found it to be more fun to see her being so miserable over something so lame.

Monopoly Pub Crawl — Stop #20 — Leicester Square(Yellow) Next it was into Leicester Square to brave the crowds of tourists and we ducked into the Moon Under Water. I don’t quite understand the name but I like this pub. It’s nothing special drink-wise, but I find the collection of people it attracts to be quite entertaining. It’s also a favourite with crawlers and the staff are well versed in quickly and efficiently pouring a variety of half pints and shots. What makes this pub stand out in my mind is the number of people I talked to about the crawl. Despite the volume of crawlers, everyone seemed a bit surprised to see our crew. We also got a couple of community chest spaces signed here and Matt may have got a Polish girl’s number. The bar staff were very friendly and up for a quick chat despite the number of people. The pub also has a decent sized outdoor seating area and clean toilets, two very important things to note when corralling a group of drunks with full bladders! Oh, I wouldn’t bother with food here as the menu looked very pub standard and look of the food that went by wasn’t super impressive. But it does have Blue Moon on tap which gives it extra points.

BLUEMOOOOON! As a California native, I was happy to see this on tap. Apparently there are only 3 pubs in England that have it. Went on a Friday night about 930PM — Packed with younger people. Older crowd sitting near the front, younger near the bar and back wall. Almost got carded myself, but greeted the bouncer and gave him a lovely look ;) Mixed crowd overall, and you could tell who was there to get cheap drinks before a bigger night out and who was there for a good chat. Good place to start, I’ve learned. Prices are always good here(Wetherspoon’s chain pubs) & this pub is perfect if you’re going out anywhere near by the square, close to a few tube stations and 2 different cinemas — Saw Johnny English beforehand so went in with a good mood. Left annoyed at how crowded it was. Couldn’t even get out of my seat at one point, but I guess that was our timing. I’d say not a great place to sit and enjoy your beer unless you go early enough to snag a table for your mates. I’d also recommend getting a few pitchers so you don’t have to get up and get more. When it’s crowded, get your beer down and head off to the next place as soon as you can. x

Large pub on Leicester square that gets absolutely heaving throughout the day. Service takes for ever, although the staff were polite when they did eventually get round to serving you! The beer is relatively expensive for a wetherspoons(over £5 for a pint & a half of lager) although beer in central London is always expensive! Difficult even to get a place to stand inside and a place to sit is an almost impossibility. The place gets so packed that even standing becomes uncomfortable due to constantly being knocked and backed into. The toilets seem miles away and take ages to get to when its busy and 2 urinals and one WC is definately not enough for the size of the pub. 2 blokes getting it on in the only WC didn’t help the situation much either, especially not after a belly full of all you can eat chinese food from Mr Wu’s! This is obviously a place that the tourists like to frequent as there are many many better bars around just a stones throw from the square!

Brilliant pub for the Westend and is very viberant with a very mix crowd of young & old in there only problem is pub can get very packed and getting served at the bar can be a nightmare at times when packed with weekend revolvers. I will still say if your in Leicester Square area of town and need a pint this place you can definately put first in your list to start your night off in yeps I would give it a good thumbs UP!!! Lol And for drinks or pint in Westend it’s very reasonably priced.

I was pretty damn excited about my first pub experience despite the fact that I had not been able to Unilocal one in Leicester Square. After some walking around, we stumbled upon Moon Under Water. While the fish and chips were decent, I was pretty damn disappointed by the ale I had here. It was flat and watery. On top of that, a French server there hit on me and told me he is not an easy guy to get. Did he think I would be flattered by that? Fail. Fish and chips were on the value menu — £4.95 Ale — about £2.50

This is a Wetherspoons in Leicester Square. Met an ex-Londoner here last night. Had beer and a good chin wag. They ran out of draught Kronenburg and Carling. Not really cool for any pub, especially one in the West End. I don’t really like this chain of pubs. One redeeming factor is, occassionally, the toilets — some pubs have quite funky ones(check out and ‚ ). Not the ones here though. Usually booze n food is cheaper than the pubs around. It’s not typical British pub fayre, most of meals are supplied by Brake Bros, or similar — frozen — say no more. Other redeeming factor are their festivals of beer, wine, and others. Most around where I live seem to be full of older people drinking the cheap booze all day. Not the best atmosphere.

When I am around Leicester Square I always find myself having a pint or three at the Moon. The staff is always friendly and the food is spot on pub grub. The only down side is that it can get pretty packed, so I like to stop in around lunch time when the crowds are a little less oppressive.

If you’re looking for a bar where it takes ages to get served, you feel claustrophobic and you want to get down with the tourists, then this is the place for you. Being a cheap pub in the heart of Leicester Square, you’re guaranteed a bit of a mad rush. It’s a good meeting place, but I wouldn’t advise staying here for more than a drink or two. They have a standard bar menu, but it gets too crowded to eat comfortably. It’s usually full of toursists though, so its a good place to meet people.
