Funny I’ve heard the name of this place so much but never actually been here and it’s only two streets away. My boyfriend had been walking past and thought it looked cool so took a notion that we had to go there. We assembled the booze cruise crew and headed over on Thursday at 7pm… It was dead. Only one other patron there. But I can really see the appeal. Great music on the jukebox, good seating options and omg, monster munch crisps on sale. Hells yes! They even have a pool table in back, I’m shit at pool, but it looks fun when other people play. We’ll definitely be back!

LOVELOVELOVE this pub. Probably one of the friendliest pubs in London, especially if you are playing on the pool table. You are bound to make a few new drinking buddies over a competitive game. The bar staff are fab again probably the friendliest in London. It is dog friendly, how could it not with a name like that! And the free juke box is the icing on the cake. Definitely one of London’s hidden jems. sshh don’t tell too many people.

Islington’s best kept secret. Off the main drag and round the corner. ACE staff, very laid back feel to the place, immense whisky selection and all very reasonably priced. The pub quiz on a Wednesday eve is one to get to. Bit of a mucky place, but has a definite charm. Pool table and back yard and great music — what more could you want?

This is a friendly pub, off the beaten trackat least by Islington standardsthat serves a couple of ales and has a very dog friendly policy(I’m not a big fan off mutts myself, but none bothered me during my time here, so I won’t hold that against them). There is a dart board(try not to hit a pooch) and a pool table. The juke box provides an interesting mix of tunesmostly of a rock variety. My friends were also enamoured of this pub, in particular the small covered beer garden/smokers bike sheds out the back. There is something special about this place, but I’m not quite sure how to describe it. The name is cool of course!

ahhh i loved this pub! divey, laid back, rocky, dog friendly, it is pretty much everything i could ever want in a pub. my friends and i were able to easily get a table for the 6 of us, the bar had everything that each of us wanted to drink for reasonable prices and i was able to satisfy my twiglets craving which i suddenly developed in the middle of last week for no obvious reason. winning! they had decorated this place in a really quite hilarious way for halloween. when we came in, one of the bar guys was lovingly sorting out the cob webs on the light fixtures. there was also a pretty manky fake rat on the wall, which we soon turned into a toy for the adorable chihuahua that was sitting in the corner beside us(dog friendly, see?!) i will definitely come back here the next time i am in the area — and i am definitely feeling jealous that this is not close enough to become my local!

This pub is everything I’ve been looking for in a local hangout since moving to London. It’s friendly, a bit dark, eclectic decorations, great music and pretty reasonably priced. The dart board and pool table, as well as pretty delicious chips, make this place a fairly standard night out, but the happy and welcoming atmosphere change that to somewhere you want to return. A couple of cute doggies running around helps as well. I think this is my new favourite place in London, I really wish I could say more about it.
