Maybe a lot of things don’t bother me but I loved this place! It was literally a block away from the flat I was staying in. I was in London for about five days & every day I stopped by here for a quick beer. There’s something about pubs that I love. Beer selection was good. The beers are room temperature. All the pubs I went to had warm beer.(That’s how it’s served out there.) Staff is friendly. They do have food, I just can’t remember What I ordered. Probably fish & chips since I survived off that.

There are two things that Park Tavern does really well. 1. Soup powder encrusted chips. Seriously. The best chips in the WORLD. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, enough flavour that you could eat an entire bowl without sauce and comes with garlic mayo on the side in case you’re the kind of person who thinks sauce is a must. I honestly couldn’t recommend them enough. They almost make the hour-long trip from my home worth it alone. 2. Cider. They serve a cider called Old Mout Cider and it’s hands down amazing. They come in three different flavours; summer berry, kiwi and lime and passionfruit and apple and each flavour is glorious. Fresh, refreshing and full of flavour. You don’t know cider until you’ve tasted this. As for the rest of it, I’d probably describe it as Manor House Kitchen Cosy. It’s got burning log fires, original brickwork and beams and everything is a rich mahogany colour giving it that real sort of old feel to it, mixed in with a hint of modern with the food and presentation, and then topped off with warmth. It’s lovely. I went mid-Spring and it was pretty chilled out but I can imagine winter is where it comes into its element. Everything is reasonably priced. I think we paid around £3.99 for a huge plate of chips and the ciders all came to under a tenner easily. It’s really the only place to go if you’re in Southfields. Brilliant.
