Yet another tiresome hipster hive typical of the Primrose/Belsize area. Probably the only pub in London where bar stools can’t be used to sit at the bar. Why? «Because you can’t.» Charmless staff. Plastic clientele. Walk on.

Terrible staff. A big group of us left because of of how rude they were. Avoid.

Absolutely terrible level of service. The so-called supervisor not only acts in a totally unprofessional manner and behaves like it’s her first day on the job, but also even barely speaks English!!! I have never been approached by such ignorant staff in any decent pub or restaurant in London before!

I’ve been here oodles of times, it’s the perfect spot to drop in after a stroll around Primrose Hill. I haven’t had dinner here, per say, but I have ordered more than my fair share of chips which have all been eaten quite happily. Good selection of beer, mulled wine in the winter, and bar staff that serve you quickly with no fuss. And yes, they are dog friendly! Fun Fact: You can spot the sign for the Pembroke Castle in the background in one of the scenes in Day of the Triffids

Walk to the end of Camden high street, past the stables, past the round house, up the road before chalk farm and cross the train tracks into the ever posh primrose hill area and you’ll find this little beauty. Although your finding this place might make you somewhat reminiscent of an old Dr Seuss book, it’s well worth the journey away from the bustle of Camden into the pleasant suburbs of primrose hill if your looking for a quiet pint and a talk amongst friends without being elbowed out of the way. I can’t but like this extremely odd shaped pub — which is elongated to fit alongside the train tracks. Expect dark wooden floors, a lovely oasis of a beer garden and a chilled out and relaxed atmosphere. Whilst I adore the vibe of this bar, I was somewhat disappointed with the selection of drinks(I’m a bit of a drinker myself), and food was your average pub grub. However whilst not a fantastic choice of bereaves, they do have something for everyone and friendly efficient staff! I also like the well cooked chunky chips. Highly recommended — Yum.

A decent enough pub, that manages not to be too foodie. They also play an unusual selection of old but cool music, at least they were doing when I was there. Pub serves 3 real ales, nothing too unpredictable though. The rarest, and therefore my choice of course, was a decent pint of Brakespear Bitter.

I like the atmosphere in this pub. It is bright, spacious, and there seemed to be enough bar staff to handle the crowd so no waitng to be served which always makes me happy! I didn’t eat but the menu seemed reasonable and the selection decent. I will be back to give the quiz night a try as it is said to be very popular.

So many memories of The Pembroke. Can’t believe they have an outdoor patio/garden area now for seating. How charming! This was our favorite place to eat, drink and study when I lived in Chalk Farm 20 years ago, I’m glad to see they’re still in business(though I doubt the Irish proprietor Gordon still runs the place?). Always loved the Lamb Chops for lunch or early dinner, with a Snakebite(or three) to wash it down.
