This used to be our weekly pub quiz location and we won free Sunday roasts several times. As a starter I once had a delicious fish cake and for dinner I tried the veggie burger which was all I could wish for. I just don’t like their fries but I give them credit for the homemade salsa. I love that they have a nut roast for the veggie-people, so that’s what I had on Sundays. It was yummy and plentiful.

This is a traditional pub located a little way out of the centre of Wandsworth. It is comfortable, with a good range of beers, including Sambrooks, Twickenham and Youngs. It has a good food menu with cheep snacks and dearer main meals. I had the South African sausage, very tasty. It would be good for large or small groups.

A brilliant, quiet, cosy local pub. If you’re lucky enough to live in the area, then you must make it your local!(Or on second thoughts, don’t, because us locals love it just the way it is and want to keep it to ourselves!) Great beers on tap, and a nice, quiet, relaxed atmosphere that is perfect to enjoy a quiet pint with a mate at the end of the day. At the front of the pub, tables and chairs encourage social catch-ups, and then moving onto the back is the cosy dining area with a mix of banquettes, chairs, sofas and wooden furniture to choose to eat at. Outisde area is perfect for summer drinking and eatingand is warm and covered for the smokers in rainy winter. The menu is concise, with one dish for every meat type, and all varied. The burgers are huge and packed full of meat. Tuesdays are a good day at the Pig and Whistle — 2 burgers for £10. Excellent value, and you will not be able to move afterwards! That I can guarantee you.
