Terrible, Terrible, Terrible. The worst Roast i’ve ever eaten. Judging by some of these other reviews, maybe it was good at some point, but definitely not anymore– some of the photos other people have posted look nothing like what we were served. The ‘seasonal’ veg was tough, microwaved frozen veg(yes the kind that has peas and sweetcorn in it) and ours didn’t come with the chipolata or the stuffing as advertised on the menu. It was literally just chicken, micro veg, 3 small potatoes and a cardboard-y yorkshire pudding which also tasted like it had been re-heated in the microwave. I’ve had way better plane food. Knowing how bad it was in hindsight, I wouldn’t pay more than a few pounds for this rancid food, let alone the £13 price tag. Service was also shockingly awful. One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had! Avoid at all costs!

My wife & I went here for a change and on a bit of a whim, as we both fancied a Sunday roast but without the hassle of home cooking(and ensuing argument about tidying up!). So off we went to the Plough for the first time. When we arrived the place was heaving & we thought it would take an age to be served. To our surprise within 2 minutes we had a table, drink orders had been taken and menus supplied. I had the roast beef ribeye, whilst my wife went for the nut roast. Both roasts were excellent and the service was good and best of all it wasn’t the normally steep Dulwich prices. Overall, yes the place could do with a lick of paint, but we shall be coming back again.

Ok place for drinks and food when you are in the Dulwich area. We went on a weekday night and it’s not busy so we have a nice time just enjoying our dinner and chilling, talking. Service is ok and no big complains.

Lovely pub, reasonably priced food and drinks too. There is a good selection of lagers, beers and ales and a good range of wines. If you’re coming for wine on Tuesdays the pub has their ‘Grape Escape’ event with special offers on bottles. Thursdays is the lively and popular quiz night– expect stiff competition, best I’ve done with a team is fourth. Friday has live music in the evening. Food is always of a reasonable quality and price, I’m rather fond of the burgers. I’ve not had a Sunday roast there, but have spoken to people who have and they say it takes a while to get served on Sundays as it’s so busy. Sunday also seems to be the most family-friendly day as there are more children around in the daytime. Easy to find as the adjacent bus stop is named after the pub(at the time of posting this listing was ‘Goose & Granite’, the pub is now known as ‘The Plough’). The pub is a few minutes walk from East Dulwich station.

Ate here last night. Pretty awful to be honest. I had chicken and chips with red wine sauce. I would have been better off going to Morleys(and I am not a fan of Morleys). The sauce tasted like tomato soup mixed with cheap ketchup, the chicken was pumped full of water(cheap, battery, unhappy chicken no doubt) and the chips were cold. The missus has sausage and mash and was quite ill several times during the night. All that for £25, bargain? Not. It is still better than it used to be when it was the awful generic Goose and Granite chain, but at least then it was cheap. So all in all, I wouldn’t recommend it and I won;t be going there again.

Good pub for meeting friends — lots of space means you can almost always grab a big table with no trouble. There’s one bay window in particular that’s my favorite. Selection of beers is reasonable and the food(fish finger sandwiches!) is pretty decent quality and not too expensive.

A decent pub far enough away from the busier end of Lordship Lane that this place feels a bit more chilled and local but still in a nicely modern way. Went there for a few drinks and dinner last Sunday evening. I knew that the roasts would be finished, so wasn’t expecting too much on the food front, but ordered the pork belly and have to say it was brilliant! Especially at only a tenner. Fish n chips were good too.

Every time I go to this pub it’s pouring with rain outside, which seems to enhance its cosy and comforting interior, despite a recent refurb. Proper ale, not-bad food and plenty of seating, even on a Saturday night. Pretty good for south London.

The newly refurbished Plough is the best pub in the Dulwich area. With a wide variety of drinks behind the bar, staff who are adept, and food which is of a very high standard; the Plough is a real gem in Lordship Lane. It also boasts arguably the best beer garden in south London suitable for summer drinks and cold winter days all year round.

Since the refurb this place is so much better. It looks great, has great food and good entertainment. The bar staff are friendly and there is a good range of drinks. The outside space is fab in the summer with loads of room. I think it’s Mondays they have a Mum’s club where parents can bring in buggies with plenty of room for them along with the normal crowd. Have seen some fun bands there and had some great nights out.

The Plough is a great place to while away the hours. You can grab a seat on one of the huge sofa’s armed with a paper and a pint of guinness. Should you fancy a chat, you will find the staff receptive and responsive. They are great at remembering faces and make you feel really welcomed. If the kitchen is open and you are feeling hungry do take a chance on the menu. The food has never disappointed and you can also see the kitchen staff at work which adds to the magic of it all, I like seeing a proper working kitchen serving freshly prepared food rather than enduring some warmed up frozen trudge! They also run a friends of the plough scheme and you can register online to claim a free bottle of wine when you next visit so do ask at the bar before you leave for a flyer. Location wise, you can’t miss it. It is opposite the library and is served by lots of local buses.

Since the Plough was refurbished it has become a very comfortable and relaxing environment. The pub serves a good range of beers and wines and a decent range of food. There is an outside area, which will be good for the summer and there is live music and entertainment on certain nights of the week. It is a great option for the Dulwich Library end of Lordship Lane.

This excellent pub with traditional décor and a useable garden serves a good selection of real ales at realistic prices and has a varied and relatively inexpensive menu. Over several years this has become my place for a night out to relax in or to meet up with a few friends. It is ideally located in a busy street so there is always a buzzing atmosphere. They cook the best fish and chips aswell, freshly prepared and cooked to perfection. This place is great!
