I dined here for the steak and didn’t know what to expect. Friends from my squash club after a few wines were informing me of the best places to eat in London. Being old timers, I thought I would take their advice. The rotisseri which as I understand is owned by the delisseri was the place to go for steak. A little off St. JOHNS high street is this set back restaurant that initially has the feel of a jass club. Very dark tones suggest an elegant dining place that is slightly unexpected. We sat at a rather small table although was ample for the lunch menu. The tuna sashimi was well presented and filling, although it would have been lovely if it was slightly more meaty. This may have been due to me being hungry. It was nethertheless very yummy, and I cleared through this dish leaving a smile on my face as I waited for the renowned main. How could the main be better than other renowned establishments I have eaten in. Surely I was going to be let down again. The fillet came, and I initially thought my friends was mine. She had asked for it to be cooked blue and I could see little difference between hers and my medium rare. I thought I would let this slide after talking to the waitress and placed it down to my colour blindness. Any how the fillet mignon was served in a small side plate covered in a buttery sauce. 200g of steak I presumed was never going to satisfy me. On cutting open the steak I could tell this was going to be a great steak

I was a bit nervous with the ‘hit or miss’ reviews posted here on Unilocal and elsewhere, but we had my mother in tow for the Holidays and we dropped in one evening when they where not busy. It turned out to be a great selection. First, as had been implied, they are not«kid friendly», this is definitely a more mature ambiance. There is no children’s menu or selections, but they did have a nice burger that would satisfy my daughter. Second, as has also been mentioned, the pace of service is very measured, which is to mean quite slow. But we did not experience any rude staff, and we were well taken care of that evening. The three of us adults started with the wedge salad, and it was fantastic. The buttermilk dressing was not overpowering, and enough blue cheese sprinkled on to keep things interesting without being skimpy. If you close your eyes, you would even swear they used American style bacon… I ordered the«large» portion ribeye(which is an American small order), but very sufficient, cooked to perfection, and the meat was well aged and tender requiring absolutely no ‘sauces’ for enhancement. My green beans on the side were cooked just as well and very enjoyable. I couldn’t get enough of my daughter’s fries(aka ‘chips’.) My mother ordered the ribs, which she devoured(I am still a bit skeptical on the sauce since I usually take the time to brew my own even in the States), and my wife enjoyed her fish which seemed equally well prepared. Needless to say, my daughter enjoyed her burger. After all is said and done, a great steak dinner in the heart of St Johns Wood that didn’t cost us an absolute fortune with a bottle of the house red. As long as you remember this isn’t Morton’s of Chicago and the steaks just don’t come 3″+ thick here, this is a great meal for the pound.

I pass by this restaurant a lot, it is one a side street next to Saint Johns wood high street. So we decided to give it a try. We ordered beef ribs with fries and grilled shrimp and both were good. Their staff were very friendly and nice. Few things we didn’t like that it took so long for our food to be ready almost an hour! and the fries was cold and not fresh.

The service was terrible, very rude and not nice to our children. Had the special artichoke and chicken wings — was not impressed by either. My husband had the steak and enjoyed it but we definitely won’t go back.

The Rotisserie in St John’s Wood is just off St John’s Wood High Street and about half way between St John’s Wood tube station and Regent’s Park. After I entered the restaurant I got a table immediately. I really liked the colours and the wooden, partly cubic and clear interior. The music was okay, though not always perfect(I only remember Phil Collins and Dido — both okay for a Saturday night dinner, somehow — I don’t remember all the rest, perhaps for the better). In general the atmosphere was nice. I ordered a Stum jump Riesling-Sauvignon Blanc(white), and got a Stump Jump Grenache Shiraz(red). But I did not complain, as I wanted to get a red wine for the main course anyway. So I just saved on wine. I started with tasty spicy chicken sausages that smelled and looked like actually grilled. Very good. As main course I chose a fillet steak with fries. And this fillet steak was simply superb! It also had the shape of a heart — I do not know, if it was purely random, or they do this on purpose — anyway, it was a nice detail. The pepper sauce was very good too, and everything went well with the red wine. This was definitely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. No need to mention the thin fries, though they were good as well. So, if you’re after a really delicious fillet steak, The Rotisserie in St John’s Wood is the place to go.

The food here is amazing, the one I usually frequent is in Hatch End, I always aim to try something new but always end up sticking with the buffalo mozzarella salad for starter and fillet steak for main, it’s always a treat to come here and the staff are really good

When this place opened up about 4 or 5 years ago it replaced a Zizzi — what a godsend for the neighbourhood that Zizzi left. I believe the Rotisserie chain has South African origins and is like a classier TGI Friday’s(okay I have probably just insulted them). The chain has 4 restaruants located in Hatch End, Whestone, West Hampstead and here(St Johns Wood). I have been here three times and each time served by a crazy waiter who(unintentionally) made it a great dining experience. My spare ribs were good… For the area I thought it was very good. In the grand scheme of things not magnificent — but as I said good for the area.
