I love this place! One of my favourite places for traditional pub grub! Fish and chips are lush, Sunday roasts are brilliant, and it’s dog friendly :-) Note: you need to book of its for a Sunday!

My wife told me I should do a few good reviews because we tend to only review places when we are pissed off with poor services so — here goes; I would thoroughly recommend this place. Great surroundings and atmosphere, good staff and customer service. Oh — yes I forgot to mention good beer. that is the the most important part, a good varied selection of craft beers. When I have eaten here it is good. So thanks Roundhouse(Freemasons formerly) I will return.

I must have walked past The Roundhouse a thousand times, but had previously never thought to go in, assuming it was merely a neighborhood watering hole; I have done the establishment a disservice– it is in fact a very serviceable pub with a gastro-pubby bit attached. Food is better than average(underpowered starters, e.g. squid and chorizo lost in a pile of chickpeas, but bavette steak served nicely marinated and reasonably rare). While the menu may feature the occasional swing-and-miss, the staff are friendly and attentive, and one of the things that those in the know get very excited about is the beer; specifically the Lagunitas IPA, although the 1936 lager is no mean pint, as cool and precise as one would hope a Swiss beer would be. I will find reasons to return.

The Roundhouse is my of my local pubs around Clapham Junction so it was surprising that I hadn’t been there until recently. It fancies itself as a gastro pub so there is a large focus on food but I have only ever been there for drinks. I really like the Camden Hells that they have on tap which tastes better than the generic lager served at other pubs in the area. The pub really comes into its own in summer as there is a large outdoor drinking area for those rare warm sunny days that London sees from time to time.

LAGUNITASIPA. By far, this is the most important fact about my review. They had it, I drank it and it’s the only place in London or the UK that I have found this amazing California made IPA. Not just that, but they had it on tap, unheard of in these parts! The atmosphere at this gastropub was quite calm. It was quite busy for a Saturday afternoon as a mix of couples, families, friends were enjoying drinks and food. The food was alright. I had a burger that tasted like your standard pub burger would. The chips were really good though. Overall, a very enjoyable place in the less populous part of Clapham.

I was first drawn in by the crowds basking in the heat of a balmy summer’s evening supping their drinks on the tables and chairs which crowd around this pub’s exterior. Although it is set just off a pretty busy road(the beginning of Battersea Rise) it still felt like a relaxing spot for a drink or two. Once inside, I was surprised and pleased to see that the beers on tap included offerings from Brewdog and Innis & Gunn and a rotating selection of ales. There was also a good selection of bottled craft beers behind the bar(I spied a few Sierra Nevada and Stiegl options for example) — certainly enough to keep you interested. I have been back a few times since and the beer has been excellent on each visit. I have also sampled the bar snacks which are little bit more humdrum, the duck scotch egg being the best of the bunch. However, as a pub for drinking(rather than eating) it is pretty spot on.
