Well the one thing I can say about this place is that at least it was cheap. It certainly wasn’t bad, but the«Meh. I’ve experienced better» sure applies here. A friend of mine was flying through Heathrow with a 4 hour layover, so we decided to leave the airport and get a quick lunch. We randomly chose a tube stop a few stops away and found this place a quick walk from Boston Manor. The fish ‘n chips looked pretty decent, but the sausages and mash left a lot to be desired. If you find yourself in the area and need something to eat and don’t want the Chinese place down the street this place will do, but it ain’t great.

Well, it’s a Harvester — so expect a nicely inoffensive corporate pub decorated to look like a rural country pub, in the middle of suburbia. Alas, they don’t ask you if you’ve ever been to a Harvester before — which is a shame, because their unlimited salad bar and drinks offering does confuse things slightly. The service was nicely good, if slightly inefficient — and the food was fine. The unlimited salad bar and drinks are good if you like that sort of thing. The wife loves it, so I’m doomed to be here again and again!

Like most Harvesters, this pub is huge with the vast majority of the pub being set up as a restaurant. The bar side is large enough and the beer garden is also big and split into three different sections. All of the ashtrays were dirty and there was crisps and ash on most tables and one had a broken glass on it. Probably not the sort of garden I would want my kids running around in on a sunny afternoon. Pride is the only ale that I spotted and it was off during my visit yesterday afternoon so I had to settle for a pint of overflowing Guinness served in an almost clean glass. Standard lagers are also available alongside Strongbow, Bulmers, San Miguel and a couple of smoothflows from Tetleys and Greene King. The barmaid was very friendly and the restaurant was very busy for Monday lunchtime, but I still think that the management could do with putting in a little more effort with keeping the place clean and tidy. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit there again
