The Shoreditch Spa

Found this place on Unilocal after a week of running around town, my back needed a treat. Booked the evening before and came in the morning. Rooms are so cozy with s fireplace, and the massage was excellent. Ask for Viky :)

Upon returning to London after many weeks away at home in the States — I was in desperate need of a spa tune up. I sent over an email to book a shellac manicure, pedicure, a few bits of waxing, and a facial after running across their listing on Unilocal.I told you, in need of a mega tune up!
Marc (owner and therapist) responded quickly and booked me in for the following Saturday afternoon for all back-​to-​back appointments. No fuss. Pure joy.
Don’t be deterred by the Brick Lane address — Shoreditch Spa is on the quiet side, not the crazy side. Upon walking in, you’re transported away from the hustle and bustle of London (and Shoreditch, at that) and into a world where everything starts to slow down, get prettier, and less stressful. My kind of place.
I started by relaxing upstairs in the very plush, stylish chairs they use for nails. Equipped with a fresh made latte and a tablet from which to surf my thought was «I may never leave, they’ll have to throw me out.» I sunk in and waited a few minutes and then Javonne started to work on my ridiculously out of shape nails.
The shellac manicure (now 10 days in) looks perfect as do my toes, however — the treatment itself was also incredibly lovely and relaxing. Paraffin dip on both hands and feet, methodical attention to detail, and well executed. I will definitely go back to J for nails, he’s a PRO.
Next it was downstairs to Stacy for waxing and facial (Dermalogica) — just what the doctor (myself) ordered. The waxing bit is never that pleasant but it was done super professionally, quickly and without error. That’s all one can ask for. The facial was done after a consultation, and felt very tailored to what I needed for my skin and complexion. No one size fits all approach here, which I like.
It was an absolutely indulgent and amazing several hours spent here — more than I could have expected. I’ll be making this a regular as I especially love being able to book in for several treatments at one time and not have to be managing a diary for my spa life. Ha! I wish!
Prices are reasonable for the benchmark of service and the space is immaculately clean, stylish and inviting.

Amazing little place, becoming slightly addicted to it! Jehvon is a genius when it comes to nails, always perfect and really close to the cuticle so a gel manicure lasts me 3 weeks. Stacy does really good facials, my skin is so much better since I started going there! The design is really cool and they offer you wine/​bubbly when you’re having treatments. Bliss!
