The service was a joke, some of the worst I’ve ever had in fact! And charging 50p for tap water… pull the other one! tis water!!! this is all a shame coz my chicken satay with egg fried rice was pretty good, hit the spot and only £4.40!

Foul and disgusting, the vegetables tasted old verging on rotten and were covered in a white gloop. How does this place stay open?

If you’re in a rush and you only have a few pound this place is great. Their sit in portions are nealry twice the take away portion and are the same price. They’ll bocx up your leftovers for 35p aswell so that’s your next dinner sorted!

I stumbled in here after a night of drinking round the corner at SW9. All seemed fine, we placed our food order and I opted for a tap water as I had enough liquor in me to start my own bar! The food arrived quickly, which was a pleasant surprise but that was short lived as the waiter placed the wrong dishes in front of us. No panic, I corrected the order but decided not to eat in but rather takeaway at which point I was informed that the takeaway tubes would be 50p each! «Is that right?!» Needless to say I was not impressed, requested the bill only to be met by another surprise — I had been charged for the tap water! As you can imagine a conversation was had with the waiter and I left having paid the bill minus the tap water, plastic tubs and service charge!

The best part of Speedy noodle is watching the owners/waiter abuse customers who refuse to pay for shit food.

Pretty much exactly what you expect from a place in Brixton that’s furnished with school lunch tables, lit with fluorescent strips and called ‘speedy noodle’ — fast, no nonsense, MSG-laden greasy noodles! Stopped in here before a concert and ordered some roast pork chow mein at the main counter. The food was with me almost before I took a seat! Friendly service with no pretensions to grandeur and the prices are reasonable. As for the food, well, it’s pretty standard Chinese takeaway fare. This will probably become my regular stop pre-concert when in Brixton.

Holy bejeezus. This place can… broth. Yep, it looks like a school cafeteria. Yes, it’s brightly lit and open late and offers terrible cheap generic MSG-laden generic asian food. The clue is in the name. Noodles. Think Phở. Get noodles. They have a vegetarian noodle bowl, which I didn’t get, which is probably made from squeezed cow. The broth is beefier than beef. It’s beefier than Marmite. It could pass muster in Saigon. It’s good stuff. I’ve lived here for over a year and trucked up to Hoxton for Phở. No more. At least, unless I want tripe.

If you need some noodles speedy, go to Speedy Noodle. Missed a train and had to find food fast before heading further south. Speedy Noodle said it all in the name. With mesmerizing Christmas lights, a clean & basic décor and friendly service, who can complain. Special fried rice and sweet & sour chicken with noodles arrived within 5 minutes. The chicken was pretty good and the special fried rice was nice. The noodles could have used some work but hey, it wasn’t exactly cooked fresh. I have a great appreciation for restaurants and take-aways who do what they say they will. A+ for honesty and thanks for doing it all within budget!

I had 10mins to get something hot and filling inside me. I was hungry and a dirty McDonalds was never going to do. Come to my rescue Speedy Noodle. The restaurant is one of those really bright very simple places, that was spacious, clean and really cheap. I didn’t expect much, but true to their word they were speedy. I got my special fried rice in 5mins, and you know what the big portion I received was great. Speedy, tasty and cheap… Bing, bing, bing, we have winner. Well done Speedy Noodle, you are awesome.

Cheap, quick and straightforward. Eat a main course for £3.50ish — weirdly, starters cost almost the same. Great place to refuel quickly but there is no real finesse– as you should expect as soon as you see the prices.

Well it’s definitely speedy and it also does noodles. Um, there’s not all that much else to say. I have never been to China but I imagine that the food they actually eat is quite different to the restaurants that serve Chinese fare around the world. Otherwise, China wouldn’t be the most populous country in the world because everyone would be dead from malnutrition and grease overdose. Speedy Noodle don’t do the worst Chinese food I have very tasted but I certainly wouldn’t choose to eat there again. I think there is always an element of ‘it cant be that bad’ when you’re broke and hungry and then you realise that it can. Having said that, London is quite a confusing place to eat because it is possible to get a really good cheap meal here, though often cheap does just mean nasty. Stay very much away from the duck pancakes if you do ever go there, is my advice to you.

Does exactly what it says on the tin! Fast, cheap chinese food at wagamama-style seating. Not the best chinese food you’ll ever had but really quick. Good if you just want to grab something before heading out in Brixton.

It certainly lives up to its name. You are served, very quickly, very large plates full of… well, pretty standard Chinese fare. If, like me, you are a devotee of English Chinese food, you can be pretty sure of a good meal for a pleasingly low price. The décor is absolutely basic. Benches, tables, tiled floor, bright light. It is not an atmospheric little corner of the Orient in south London. It is a cheap fast-food restaurant, an excellent place to grab a((huge)) bite after a gig at Brixton Academy, or just to fill yourself up if you’re hungry and in a hurry. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who needs food now, and doesn’t have a lot of money. Yes, it’s soulless, but it’s hot and tasty and certainly speedy.
