Ahh the Talbot. What a great little find, especially if your a thirsty morsel, running aimlessly around south london. What better place to land. Firstly, great food and great drink. Secondly, Great décor and charming folk. When I got down there, our group of friends were outside, it was fairly chilly but there was tons of space. The beers were flowing and it wasn’t hard to get to the bar to be served which is quite important. The owner had two great beautiful dogs that charmed all of us while we were there. Felt very warm and cosy did the pub and look forward to heading back there soon.

I had been meaning to check this place out for a while as we live a few blocks aways, but finally did this weekend — twice. Both times we sat downstairs by the bar. On Saturday, my husband, pup and I went for dinner. It was buzzy and busy. The service was a little slow, but nothing to complain about especially since it was pretty busy. The food was great — modern British -, solid selection of beer and wine. I had the chicken Kiev(awesome), he had the burger(he wolfed it down, so I’m pretty sure that meant it was equally awesome). We went again on Sunday for a mid-afternoon pint after a walk and ended up staying for lunch. It was a little quieter, but had a great atmosphere. The food may have been even better on Sunday(we had the vegetarian polenta and the chicken roast). The staff was very friendly and attentive. The dog had a big bowl of water brought to her both times. I have a feeling we may be making it a habit to visit The Talbot pretty regularly.
