It is often difficult to keep an independent hardware store going with these large out of town DIY shops gobbling up the business. Thankfully they haven’t all disappeared, instead they survive like the Tool Shop in the middle cities where the bigger stores have no presence. And you know what? It’s great! Firstly the store is like a Mecca for DIY, there’s pretty much everything in here and because it’s all a little bit hard to find, the staff make up for it by being super helpful. Because sadly I have none of my fathers skills at DIY and I need to be talked through the simplest of tasks in great detail. Such as when I was looking for nails for a nail gun I bought — I thought they were the same ones as you hit with a hammer… It’s a good job that this place still exists or else I’d never be able to do anything like that.

A brilliant, well stocked hardware and DIY shop in central Westminster/Victoria. Conveniently located at the end of Strutton Ground market for local residents as well as office workers. A wide variety of items stocked. I once needed to get some replacement parts for some self-assembly furniture(the originals which came with it were rubbish and snapped during assembly) and was dreading having to travel far to a B&Q to get them. The Tool Shop had them in stock! The guys who work there are really friendly and helpful. They also cut keys while you wait at reasonable prices. Recommended.

Really good little place. It’s simple, it has loads of handy stuff in it like tools(obviously), lights, fittings and at the moment they have loads of christmas decorations and its darn affordable. The guy who works in there knows his tools, as one would hope, and I was in and out with my buys very quickly. If you live or work around Westminster then I’ll guarantee that you’ll always be popping in for things that you need that you didn’t think you would.
