This is a grubby dark dingy pub. Not many would venture here on a weekday. But on Arsenal or Premiership games this pub comes alive. The staff are wonderfully quick no matter how packed the place is. Within 1 minute you’ll be served and they tolerate a lot but get stuff sorted quick. Probably the best atmosphere to watch a football match. Even better than going to the stadium in truth. It’s a hardcore Gooner pub with a lot of memories to go with it for most. So for a football pub, especially if you’re an Arsenal fan this is a must gameday.

This place is a bit of a five, don’t get me wrong. But its actually so cool! The décor, the fact there are casks as tables… cool posters and words on the walls! Right next to Finsbury Park station! Don’t know if I’d trust the food somewhere like this but fine place for a drink!

This place has some seriously Low Standards. The barmen unashamedly made my drink and went to add ice, right in front of me, with his old grubby hands. This is the first time in my life I was relieved and happy to be served my drink in plastic cup, as in they are this gross in front of guests, who the hell knows what’s going on back of the house. Do they even wash the glasses? A shame I live so close, won’t be back. They get 2 stars for playing a World Cup game with plenty of TVs but horrible seating nonetheless.

The Twelve Pins is OK if you’re looking for a quick drink. They don’t have any ales on tap and the bar staff aren’t the most smiley. They’re probably hardened from having to deal with the football crowd whenever there’s a match on at Highbury. If you’ve got time, it’s probably worth walking 3 minutes up Stroud Green road to the World’s End which is much nicer.

Well not to sure if this should be addressed as stroud green road or seven sisters rd, but either way its worth missing, I last used this house 16 years ago, when it had a different name, it was a waste of time then, and to show some things never change(much)its still a dump, and to add insult to injury, still as the same miserable barman. I waited about 5 minutes for him to see I was waiting for a drink, then he proceeded to serve 2 other people who walked behind me, The two bar pub as it was is now one, with a washed out green paint popping up everywhere, and wooden barrels as tables, the were no real ales, so I went for the John Smiths, which the barman forgot about, but eventually I got it, without a please or thank you. i held my hand out for my change, but it was just put on the counter, so I sat myself in the corner and began to read the menu, thats when I noticed the opening times, and began to wonder why a pub so near to the underground and a large bus terminal had such odd opening times, on the menu was irish stew, but there was no sign of that anyone had been eating, so about half way down my pint I left, never to return, felt like leaving a card saying youve been qyped. I wonder if we would be correct to do that?
