I came to this pub for only the second time yesterday with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. Really liked this place on my first visit, and liked it even more on my second. This pub is an old school pub, with a great pubby atmosphre. This is reflected in the food they serve up too. I had a Roast Beef lunch. It was really good. The beef came with roast potatoes, roasted carrots, roasted parsnips and peas. It also had a nice dark thick gravey, just how I like it. I was also impressed with the homemade horseradish sauce(I can’t get enough horseradish sauce… love it!). What I loved the most though, was the price. An excellent deal at £11.95. The desserts alos looked good, although I had no room after such a filling lunch. All desserts are priced at £3.50. I love in North London, and commented that I would definately make the trip south of the Thames again, just to have lunch here. They also have a loyalty scheme, where after 10 meals you get the 11th free, with another free meal for every 5 after that. The pub is furnished like an old fashioned London boozer, but also has a large sofa, and some lounge chairs, which make it ideal if you are in a group. I urge any tourist to London to make a trip to this place to get a real Sunday roast, just as my mother would prepare. Loved it!

Their were four of us. Hoping what we have heard about English food was wrong. But sadly so far it’s right. Sent to The Griffin recommended by our Hotel. Won’t trust her again. Barbq night. Spouse got good burger bil got chicken not too spicy. Myself and one other were served ribs at least we were told they were. Couldn’t tell we got badly burned I do mean black charcoaled bones. Three of them if it weren’t for the soft fries We’d have nothing to eat. How could they even serve this let alone charge you for this black mess. I do have to say service was adequate. Beer and Guiness good.

We were looking for somewhere to have a work trivia night out, and this place seemed to get good reviews. We booked a table, and arrived a little earlier for pre-drinks. The place is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Vauxhall. The place is decked out with all kinds of interesting things hanging and posted on the walls. Where we were sitting small children’s dolls were sat on the window sill with their eyes painted over in white, haha they were rather scary looking. Each of the tables had different kinds of chairs, adding to the quirky feel. The menu is quite good for a pub, there is the favourites, along with a few other delicious looking dinners. The bar staff are super friendly, and service is prompt. The bar started to fill up closer to trivia time, 8pm Tuesdays. Sadly I couldn’t stick around for the trivia, but my colleagues said they had a fabulous time!

A great local pub in vauxhall that’s tucked away from the main streets. I love it because of the friendly service and cheap beer. The food isn’t bad either. I love how they have a private room upstairs for hire.

I’ve only been here for drinks, so this review doesn’t reflect their food. The Vauxhall Griffin is kind of hidden but I suppose that adds to it’s charm. They have a good selection of drinks and the overall vibe is just awesome. So glad I found this place!

A bit off the beaten track, but a real find. Relaxed atmosphere, even at the weekends, gay-friendly and a good selection of beers, including a couple of cask ales for the sandal wearers among us. Plenty of seating and a couple of nice outdoor areas. Could do with more places like this.

Vauxhall Griffin The Vauxhall Griffin, what a place There’s not a bare wall in sight With pictures and posters everywhere To see them all may take all night The seating is very comfortable There’s not a plain seat anywhere So once you have claimed your place You won’t want to leave your chair There is a garden at the side For when the sun does shine And just to make this poem scan It’s on the Victoria line They have a room called the Ruby Lounge Which is up on the first floor It’s used as a free cinema So no tickets at the door If you’re in the Wandsworth Road Near the Vauxhall end Drop into the Griffin pub You can even bring a friend.

If you dont like Football pubs but a nice quiet drink, or a delicious Sunday Roast, Exciting Thursday Quiz night(best to book if you want a meal as well); Its one of those great secrets — just tucked near Nine Elms Sainsburys. They have great sausage & mashy evenings. Occasionally Sunday night pictures & the friendliest bar guys & girls in the area.

Great little hidden pub in vauxhall. You dont realise how charming and cozy it is until you’re inside. Been here a few times for drinks, now wanting to see what the food is like.

Hidden pub has a nice vibe to it and lots going on(quizzes, film nights. That sort of thing). I liked the look too. Warm and cosy. Beers were Doom Bar and Rev James, of which I had a decent pint. Can’t imagine there is anywhere better in the area.

Nice bar, rather small with limited seating. Didn’t care for the taped music, but the atmosphere was great and the staff wonderful! Looking forward to a return visit someday soon…

Tough one this one. Some really great things about this hidden pub on Wyvil Road. Juke box is great and people were singing along to our chosen songs. The décor is a bit weird, but I like it. Good selection of drinks and proper bar snacks, they even had pickled onion monster munch. However, a few things let it down. Outside area is ok but more could be made of it, they didn’t have the pie & mash on as advertised when I went. Bathrooms could be nicer. Clientele was friendly, lively, although perhaps a little strange(us included!). Board games great but Guess Who had lots of faces missing. I’d go again, but wouldn’t suit all my friends so would have to pick carefully /only music loving, broken board game expert, pickled onion monster munch fans! I’ll be there.

Cool pub. Black Sheep on tap. £5.95 for big cheeseburgers. Pool table. Mini beer garden. Good jukebox. Comfy old leather sofas and armchairs. The walls are plastered with music posters and newspaper cuttings about bands, mostly from the 1990s — so the whole place kind of looks like my dream bedroom from my formative years… Teenage Fanclub, Black Grape, Nine Inch Nails, Ride. What we came for was the pub quiz. What a blinding good pub quiz as well. No sport round, instead — a whole 10 questions on… CASTLES! Plus one on Roy Castle for good measure. We didn’t win as our castle knowledge was not up there with our superhero knowledge sadly, but we had a great time. The quiz works out pretty funny as it’s punctuated by bonus spot questions like ‘how much milk does a lactating Finnish cow produce?’ — the nearest answer gets a little prize like a paint-your-own piggy bank, or a selection of magazines from a dentist waiting room. As random as the fact that adding Brie to your cheeseburger here only increases it to £6. Only 5p for Brie? Bargain. Finnish Cows produce a LOT of milk.

An absolute hidden gem of a pub. Lovely cosy atmosphere, great service, comfy sofas and they have film nights on Sundays.

My wife and I ducked in here to avoid a downpour as we walked from Brixton to Victoria, after visiting the wonderful Franco Manca. What a great pub! Cheerful bar staff and punters and reasonably priced drinks, it has a really happy vibe. One I’d definitely recommend.

I really love the Vauxhall Griffin. The barstaff aren’t just friendly and polite, they really go out of their way to make sure that eveybody’s enjoying themselves. The Griffin is deservedly famous for their themed and club nights too which are all put together with obvious hard work and dedication. The food and drink is great too, the bar has an unusually wide selection of drinks and everything on offer to eat is high quality and freshly prepared and cooked in kitchens on site. Their Sunday lunch is often a highlight of my week.

Great pub tucked away in the less happening part of Vauxhall. Friendly bar staff, good selection of beers, comfy chairs and a pool table around the back, where the walls are all papered with old copies of the NME. A good mix of locals and local office types in the evenings, and can feel quite studenty at the weekend. Sweet little outside patio in the summer too.

Fantastic local pub — deep reds, nice big cosy armchairs and settees — cosy, but without feeling oppressive. The bar staff are always friendly; a selection of bottled ales behind the bar, a range of board games by the pool table, and a great eclectic selection of tunes on the jukebox ensure that lazy Sunday afternoons are joyous. It’s so good that the Wheatsheaf Inn around the corner has recently gone out of business(!)
