It’s nice to go somewhere that is just a bit different for a drink and some chill out time and this is just the place. There is a standard selection of drinks on offer and pleasant staff — but what really makes it is the unique experience of being on a floating pub.

The Wibbly Woobly has to be done just for the experience. A pub on a boat is a novel idea and the Wibbly Wobbley certainly is novel! White with a hand-painted sign declaring its presence in blue writing and coloured lights. Inside is all wood panelling and red patterned carpet, various maritine paraphernalia like maps and currencies from around the World. The staff are friendly and the crowd are«interesting». You can feel the boat sway as you drink. Sundays they have karaōke. It ‘s outdoor terrace is popular in the summer and they do BBQ food out there at that time of year too. Tip: It can be booked for parties, which I think is a real attraction say for a birthday or anniversay or something. As just a pub the novelty wore off after 3 visitsfor me. But for an experience it’s definitely worth a visit. So tacky, you have to love it!

It’s a boat! It’s a pub! It’s both. I love this place. The name is certainly apt as you will feel the wibble wobble of the river at this floating boozer(especially after a pint or two). If the sun’s out and twinkling on the Thames, having drinks on the deck is ideal. Staff is proper friendly — as are the folks who choose to imbibe here. And who can blame ‘em for being so pleasant. Put very simply, the Wibbly Wobbly is an excellent riverside spot to while away some time.

A true hidden gem, unless your taste runs to the generic pablum of Wetherspoons. Nicely poured real ale on tap, friendly staff, and the novelty of being able to sip your pint in the summer sun while gently bobbing on the floating terrace. Given that the area has a mixture of council flats and yuppy quai-side new builds, it is not surprising that the clientele is a mix, along with the odd tourist who was lucky to stumble upon it. This makes for a pleasant, laid-back atmosphere. It has the air of a classic local pub — perhaps not a place to «be seen», but a great place to while away a few hours on a sunny afternoon. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Sadly this pub is as tacky as it sounds. The décor is deeply uninspired. They could learn a thing or two from Wetherspoons(ouch). The staff were very friendly, however, and it is an oasis away from any roads. There’s a small floating terrace which has nice views out over the dock and out to the Thames proper. The beauty was slightly marred by abysmal garage music floating out from the upper deck. The punters(sorry — terrible pun) were a mix, but quite a few locally types, lending a very un-cosmopolitan atmosphere. Recommended on a nice day, and I’m afraid it’s probably one of the better pubs in this area. Update: Friends visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon and found to their dismay that karaōke was in progress.

Great price for a pint. It has an additional Jetty/Beer Garden. Fantastic for the summer. CAUTION– if you think the place is starting to rock, you are not that pissed. It is that this pub is on water! Pub Quiz is on Thursday night And Karaōke is Sunday.

Used to do Comedy Bingo which was great. Nice venue, but seems a little tired nowadays. Could be so much more with a bit of imagination… but has a great beer garden. It’s a floating pontoon latched on to the side of the barge.

This pub seems to be a hidden gem, judging by how not-very-busy it was on a Saturday evening. It really is an excellent concept in an excellent location, the tranquil Greenland docks, with a great view of the buildings of canary wharf. Everyone likes a drink on a boat don’t they? On the other side of the boat there is a small outside jetty on the water too. Walk on this and you see where the pub’s name comes from. They have a decent variety of drinks, but the only ales on offer are on the regular lager taps. I imagine this has something to do with the complication of serving cask ale on a boat, so I am going to let them off for that. Particularly as the service is so friendly. I’ll definitely be back as I would like to show someone else this unique pub! Incidentally the best way to get here is probably on the London clipper. It’s all about the boats!

The WIbbly Wobbly pub is a pub on a barge. Hence the name. It is very popular with the locals so often a little cramped but definitely worth a visit for a break away from the normal pubs. This barge was owned by Malcolm Hardee; a comedy legend who also used to own the Up The Creek venue in Greenwich. Rumour has it that Hardee died rowing away from here one night and the locals may be able to tell you why the man was such a legend. The stories I heard were better than most fiction I have read and the largest than life Wibbly Wobbly lives on in Greenland dock under the spectre of Canary Wharf on the other side of the river. Anyway, I digress. The place attracts a mixed crowd from city suits to younger folk(am I allowed to use the term chavs?). Definitely a refreshing change and nice to know you are drinking somewhere with a local story behind it.

England’s only floating pub(that’s what they say) and a great place to be in summer, bobbing on the pontoon at the side. Sunday lunches are good hearty food in big portions, the kind of food my gran used to cook, and delicious. A mixture of people go here, I’ve seen blokes in suits holding meetings, families, students, young professionals and all sorts. Well worth a visit even if it’s just for the novelty factor!

Unique publovely locals, bit of a nightmare to get to, but worth it if you like to drink on board boats. I used to come here for the weekly Open-mic comedy events, but stopped because I felt I wasn’t funny. It had nothing to do with the host MC Lloyd being known as ‘rather creepy’. This barge was owned by Malcom Hardee of comedy legend fame. He also used to own Up the Creek club in Greenwich. The story goes that he died rowing away from here one night, so best not to mention it out loud, but do ask people stories about why the man was such a legend. The stories I heard were better than most fiction I have read and the largest than life Wibbly Wobbly lives on in Greenland dock under the spectere of Canary Wharf on the other side of the river. An excellent place to spend a summers day. The pub is a convereted tug boat with a pontoon at the side to sit out on. Sitting out on a summers day and looking out at all the docks and Canary Whalf in the distance is the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon. The drinks are very reasonably and the weekly quiz is always fun. The place also has comedy nights and singers aswell. If you are looking for a reqular pub and you live in the vicinity then this is the place.

This place is a nice small quiet pub, i was there last weekend and spent the day out on the deck. Was beautiful surrounded by other boats on the dock, great socialising pub, with friendly bar staff. I will be making this a regular place for me and my family in the summer. Food is also served, and im aware of a comedy night on there too.
